Ah. Yeah, like the other anon said, it's the site for anime torrents. You generally only want to use it for seasonal/popular stuff though. Older things don't have many seeds, only incredibly obscure things won't have any seeds though.

BakaBT is another anime torrent site. Near everything has good seeds, but there's a blacklist of licensed anime that they don't allow that you'll have to resort to Nyaa for.

There's also AnimeBytes, which is a private tracker, but their registration is pretty easy, at least in my experience. You just need to know what seeds, leechers, and ratio are and to say what your favorite anime are. And if you're not an idiot, you'll probably get in. But registrations have to be open, which they're not right now.


You don't really have to worry about AB though unless you really get into anime and want some obscure stuff. Even then, most anything you could want will be on Nyaa, BakaBT, or Kissanime (if you're desperate).

i was signed up to justseed.it when it was a thing but since then the site has gone to shit and they even canceled my remaining data when they had a policy change so i just left then

Most people on /a/ torrent or use XDCC to get anime and most active discussions are for currently airing shows. If you're looking for something new to watch checking out /a/ at the start of the season is a good way to find popular shows since they tend to get a lot of threads. You can also learn quite a bit about fansubbing and anime piracy by lurking the right threads, though I guess with /wsr/ being a thing now you can just ask and get answers now.

A note about AB, the really valuable thing about it isn't really what shows they offer but the variety of releases for any given show. As an example I wanted to rewatch Death Note and wanted to grab it in HD since I haven't watched it since the BDs came out, but the BD selection on Nyaa was very poor, I think only one BD release was seeded and it was bloated as fuck. And BakaBT didn't even have Death Note in HD, only the DVD release. So I hit up AB and they had like 6 Blu-ray rips of it, including some very nice encodes I didn't see on nyaa. And the one I wanted was Freeleach too.

That's the real value of AB. If there's subs for a release they will have every version that exists +1. The onerous part is the mandatory seeding, since I like to keep my average seed time at about 6 months.
