I'm thinking about doing something relating to DNA extraction, but I'm not sure what the research question or hypothesis would be.
I have only the elementary school tier experiments on my mind.
You could cut show the water evaporation evaporation from leaves:
- cut any plant at the stem
- put stem in water it in water +food coloring (or ink if you don't have)
- wait
- you've just shown that plant drink.
For further explanation, make a cut of the stem to show that water goes through some kind of tubing I don't rembmer the name.

Oh and a last tip. If it's too slow, chop off the leaves, just keep the stem. Put one end in the water, and place a piece of paper on the upper end. It will boost evaporation, but it's less visually interesting.

While the plant stem one might work, I need to make a hypothesis. I can easily extract DNA from a plant but I need a hypothesis, something to compare the DNA to.
