Once you get verified, you should put all player suggestions into a Google poll thing and get people on the board to vote for who they want on the team. A good poll would work like this:
Each user is asked to rate each player based on whether they should be a part of the team, on a scale of 1 (not important) to 10 (very important). Then, after ratings are calculated, you sort them out like this:
HIGHEST RATING
1. Gold and captain
2. Gold
3-4. Silver
5-11. Starters
12-23. Substitutes
24-xx. Cut from the team

The league has 62 boards competing already and users keep getting upset when new ones join (/p/ and /t/ for example) because they hate small boards which either have no fans or go unmanaged later.
Creating a new team requires actual interest from the board's users and this thread went under the radar for two days. There were about 85 posts and 35 unique IPs before /4ccg/ discovered the thread. Usually when they find out about these threads, some people will act like retards ("lifelong /wsr/ fan here lolol").
tl;dr: /4ccg/ is salty about new teams and we got away with it for the most part.

When more teams were being added, the Babby Cup had to be expanded to accommodate 40 teams. Due to time constraints, they reduced it back to 32 and re-added the Fetus Cup for the worst Babby teams. Small, new teams can get promoted to the Elite Cup, which means that big teams like /a/, /k/, /vg/, /int/, /co/ and /toy/ end up missing out on the big stage. Teams like /gd/, /e/, /soc/, /wsg/, /biz/ and /wg/ have little traffic and pretty much no fans, but they're in the Elite Cup.
/4ccg/ also fears new teams because they assume that they'll end up losing all interest in competing. /t/, for example, got promoted to the Elite Cup on the first try, then got relegated to the Babby, relegated to Fetus, and lost all Fetus games, all within a year. /t/ still has a manager, but they're pretty much as dead as it gets.
But, guess what? Who cares what /4ccg/ thinks? Everybody knows that the general is a toxic salt flat of cancer. They pretty much hate everything that happens and/or assume it's /mlp/'s fault somehow. Go make that /wsr/ team and bring them to the top.
