It might be Wiccan. The three moons is a Goddess symbol according to Google search. Something about fenimity. Might be why that symbol looks similar to an Ankh. I'm hypothesizing though.

It seems to be the crescent and star, symbol of Islam, but it has three stars instead of one. This suggests to me that your grandmother was some sort of "triple-Muslim".
