Steins;Gate.
The loveable cast of characters all managed to capture my heart. The one thing I really love though is how the main character changes during the course of the story. Besides that though, the story, premise, soundtrack, and character designs are all phenomenal as well.
It's got a special place in my heart.

Sakura Card Captors
It has cards (like in Yu-gi-oh), it has transformation (as in power rangers) and it has child porn love (like in 4chan)
Gosick. It's the only show I've dropped it twice, but I came to love it. I really enjoyed the character interactions, it had an interesting story(but a slow build-up, which was the reason I couldn't bother at first) and cute moments as well.
It had flaws but the main heroine carried the show brilliantly.
Evangelion plus the end of evangelion movie because it's the biggest most depressing piece of art ever made

A somewhat depressing story with a very flawed mc and flawed supporting characters all attempting to cope with their issues in their own way. Pretty grounded in reality and I think it was the anime that changed my opinion on what anime can be.

Samurai Champloo
-it's short (26 Episodes with 20 minutes)
-it's pretty cool (if you like Cowboy Bebop or Afro Samurai then Samurai Champloo is for you)
-it's sometimes very funny
-it's sometimes incredibly sad
-badass characters
-mixes samurai history with funky hip hop tunes and has prettey decent music
