What language should I learn?
I obviously know English, but I also know Japanese to a good standard (two units during uni).
I was thinking either a Uralic or Indo-European language but anything goes I guess.
I would suggest something with lots of literature and online material, like French or German. If you can find people that speak it in your area then much better.
I tried Japanese like four years ago, only got to 1000 kanji and some basic grammar.

One that you can actually use in real life - one that combines your desire to learn with the ease of hooking with native speakers. As helpful as online resources are, personal interaction with the natives will take you beyond anything you you can download.
I figure if you are European, you cannot go wrong. If you are American, Spanish is the simplest and perhaps most inexpensive to learn seeing that alot of books and television is interpreted or translated into Spanish.
