I have lots of stuff on my desktop. Can this affect my computer's performance and make it laggy?

Everything on my desktop is stored in folders for quick access. Should I move it all to C drive? Could you also explain why and what's happening please?

If you have a computer and operating system that was made in the last ten years, then most likely not. A little housecleaning never hurts - the stuff on your desktop (I am talking bout the on your screen). The stuff on your desktop can be a little tricky - do you really have folders on your desktop or folder shortcuts? Either way it ight be more of an esthetic problem...

All that stuff just increases the size of your profile so your boot duration is being effected

Apart from your hardware specs, the second factor would be the stuff that is loading up AKA all the stuff that is in your system tray immediately after it boots. See what you get rid off

Everything on your desktop is already on drive C, at C:\Users\xxx\Desktop.

As >>112150 said, housekeeping never hurts. Get CCleaner and run it every once in a while.

Don't do this. Registry cleaners can fuck your shit up.

If your pc is slow buy a solid state drive and make sure you have an Antivirus. I recommend Avira or Panda AV.

yep, I think you should avoid software like ccleaner unless you understand exactly what it does.

Whoah whoah whoah, this guy is kinda fresh to PCs to be asking a question like OP. Having a registry cleaner could be pretty dangerous for someone who doesn't fully know what they're doing.

No, sillybuns. All the malware you probably installed might do though.
