I would like to know how does one explain the concept of colors to a kid born blind?
This question has been in my head for 2 weeks and I can't find a good reply by myself.
>>31533
The *concept* of color can be explained (wavelengths, absorption, retransmission yada yada yada), but the *sensation* of color cannot. Or can it?
Read up on "qualia" if you want to know what the philosophers think about it. Color perception is a very frequently used example of what a true subjective, non-transmissible experience is (if there are such experiences, which is still being debated).
>>31535
I will, thank you very much!

Check if your sound chipset comes with a driver that lets you configure bass/treble levels through a custom volume mixer. I have no Win10 experience, but running "mmsys.cpl" may still get you directly to the Sounds control applet where you can configure devices. Alternatively, try plugging in headphones while playback is going on -- this may pop up additional configuration.
>>31537
I updated my drivers, win 10 has installed 32 bit drivers which are incompatible so a 64 bit version. Microsoft sucks.
Not so much a problem as a general question.
For a computer without an integrated/installed wireless card, using a usb connected wireless adapter, is the MAC address of the device directly related to the usb adapter? Would another PC using the same adapter show the same MAC address? Also, would getting a new wireless adapter or installing a wireless card give the PC a new mac address?
Thanks.
>>31529
The MAC address is whatever the adapter says it is. Since MAC addresses are supposed to be unique per network node (they're not, exactly, but let's let that slide) they are associated with the adapter, not the PC. Slightly complicating this issue is that many adapters have programmable addresses.
In general, yes, another PC using the same adapter will show the same MAC address, and getting a new adapter will get you a new MAC address, and there are ways of forcing the issue if you need to reuse (or avoid) addresses.
>>31541
It is incredibly easy to change your mac address.
The thing is I want to manage/stop some useless process, I could manually stop them but they are going to reappear when I reboot the pc
for example I have this autocad process always running, just there eating resources doing nothing.
And another program to see what programs/process are conecting to internet please
See what stuff runs at boot and/or turn it off: Autoruns from the Sysinternals suite.
See what programs are connecting to the internet: open command prompt as administrator, enter "netstat -anb". There are probably fancy schmancy GUI tools for the latter (or whatever bloatware software firewall comes with your antivirus) but I don't want to know.

thanks dude
Requesting pictures of cute short haired Asians. Bob, bowl, athletic, whatever.
Small breasts preferred but not necessary
Posted wrong picture, learned spoilers don't work on this board, can't delete post until later. Welp.

I beg to differ, I chuckled merrily.
Are there any good Light Novel series worth reading? Ones that actually have a good plot, engaging characters, and keeps you coming back for more?
Overlord

That really about it?

Hi, can someone photoshop Gino DiGiannantonio's (Just fuck me up senpai) hair on to Rand Paul? Thanks.

its has been done over and over in /pol/ the day he got sent to the kiddie table
Hey /wsr/ gotta simple request. I just bought a 8gb Sandisk SD card today, and something is wrong. Every time I try to download something I get this error message. My storage is pretty much empty because I just got the card. Any ideas?
My storage
So how's your in-phone storage look?
Yes, I know you're trying to install it to the SD card, but if the internal storage is completely full, that's probably not going to work either.
>>31461
It is almost full. Should I just delete stuff? My phone isn't allowing me to move much to my SD card.
Tech support question time. Recently decided to build a pc, did so, and it appears to work perfectly fine except for one really weird problem.
Unless I'm running prime95 to stress the CPU, I eventually experience a CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error, which I've pretty much landed on the CPU as the culprit. Rarely it goes to the actual bluescreen to display this, typically just freezes.
Any way to avoid having to RMA this puppy? I've tried whatever solutions I could find from google and it's all done about jack shit, and I'll just send it off to AMD if...

You mean if the machine's *not* stressed it crashes? Well now.
This is not necessarily a processor defect. The watchdog timeout means something is going tits up with interrupt processing, which can happen if the processor enters a low power state it doesn't get out of, or if there's a third-party driver that's inappropriately futzing with interrupts.
First make sure you have the latest BIOS and drivers for your motherboard. Then boot Windows into safe/recovery mode (or even better, do...

Are you overclocking it? If so, reset the mobo to use optimized defaults. Make sure you have all your chipset drivers installed.
>>31467
Yeah, my reaction exactly.
I forgot a full list of what I've given a shot at I guess, so here goes (as best I can remember)
-Started noticing the problem
-uninstalled drivers
-reinstalled drivers
-reset windows down to barebones OS
-reset bios settings
-cleared cmos
-reset settings again
-moved the gpu from one slot to the next one down
-moved ram A to slot B and ram B to slot A
-reinstalled drivers again
-uninstalled drivers again
-decided to run stress programs to try and...

hi /wsr/ im looking for an romance anime genre, more close to a slice of life/comedy something with good story, something that it could really happen in real life (not haremshit that everybody knows it would never happen to a man or anybody) thanks!

>shoujoshit
AYY
>31436
It isn't really an anime that could happen since it has androids, but Plastic Memories. It's a great romance/comedy/sad story only about 13 episodes long (maybe more).
Asking for personal use, what's a good VPN to use?
>>31427
I'm quite pleased with nordVPN so far. Also hearing good things about PIA
Softether is pretty good, specially if you wanna play games on DMM like Kantai Collection

Ok /wsr/ I need your help tracking something down.
A few weeks ago, I was listening to some music on YouTube and saved it in a play list so that I could learn more about it later. However, when I finally got around to it yesterday, I found that the video had been removed for copyright reasons. I am struggling to track it down but here is what I know.
1 The video was called “Death March – TWEWY” or something close to that.
2 I don’t know just how the song is related to TWEWY, but It is not a part of any TWEWY soundtrack that I know of.
3 The lyrics did have...

Yes, thank you.
im trying to create a simple vpn so i can use the internet from school. but i want to use the built in windows tool, and all the tutorials and stuff are SHIT if you dont already know what you are doing.
first of all, cant use the defualt port and i cant figure out how to change the port the program uses, i tried routing a different port on the out side to the default one on the inside, but then i have another problem. i cant figure out were to put the port when connecting to the vpn. there is a field where you can put in a domain or an ip adress, so i thought maybe you...

The Windows VPN uses a protocol called PPTP. This protocol uses port 1723 and you can't override that. If you have set up a VPN server, it'll be listening on port 1723. If your network is firewalled to block outgoing connections not going to standard ports like port 80, the built-in VPN functionality is useless to you.
If you can't "use the Internet", what good is a VPN going to do anyway? What's your scenario?
>>31435
i can use the internet but nearly every website is blocked, it makes doing research really difficult when websites like the scienctific american website is blocked.
and i actualy can use the port 1723, i just thought i couldnt because when i had tested it earlier with some online tool it always told me it was blocked, turns out that it actualy wasnt and i was misunderstanding.
so now im trying to connect to it and its still unsuccessful, ive been trying from my laptop and android phone- though my laptop is...

Your VPN server should be your home machine. Testing it with your laptop at home first (using the machine's internal address, not your outside IP, as that's just asking for trouble) is a good idea, because if that doesn't work, it certainly isn't going to work from the outside. Get it to work inside your own network first, then worry about getting it to work from a school machine. That's actually the difficult part since you'll need to configure your home router to let the VPN through. Not...

Requesting cozy vidya. Not just any kind, the kind of game you can play for 100+ hours and not want the credits to roll.
Best example I can give is Persona and SMT.
Xenoblade Chronicles -about 100 hours, good music, comfy as fuck.
OP if you haven't already play the Etrian Odyssey games. You seem like the type of guy who'd like them.
>>31406
rune factory games. you just never stop playing, and they are so charming. Harvest moon is another example, but that's a minefield as some games are fantastic and others are....not
Can someone help identify this font?
it's handwritten, not a computer font (look at the different heights of the letters), but perhaps there are some that are similar.
>>31373
Looks like a typical blambot horror font like feast of flesh, shrunken head or bucketoblood.
>>31381
Thanks anon, these'll be good.
