Tumblr gifs are easily spotted for their shit quality: tiny resolution, dithered colors, choppy animation that only lasts a couple seconds at most, and all of that compressed to a filesize under 1MB.
If you're going to post gifs (you really shouldn't) they should at the very least be higher quality ones that take advantage of 4chan's file size limits and image dimensions, not shitty tumblr gifs that make you wonder why they even bothered making it a gif.

ALWAYS use variable
ALWAYS enable high quality mode
Audio only needs to be 1 for anything that is going to be posted here
Adjust resolution, CRF/tolerance till the video looks good and is <4mb.
Lower CRF/Tolerance values = Better video = larger file
the sauce of the "selfie.webm" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8_vrRDyjpo or better http://myanimelist.net/anime/18095/Nourin
>>891962
Lower the resolution.
For posting here the video does not need to bigger than 800x450 and never be smaller than 480x270 (ant territory).
Nobody watches these clips full screen.
So reduce the resolution and use the FULL 4mb to make the video look as good as possible.

I use a 1080p monitor and 270p is completely fine for WebM's. I'd rather be at 360p or 540p, but 270p is totally acceptable.
>>892065
Sure it still works even at very small sizes, but it's not ideal.
He said they don't need to be any larger than 800x450, but it's not about need so much as want.
Really you should just make the clip as large as you can without sacrificing too much quality, as long as it doesn't exceed the source file, of course.
There's nothing wrong with a higher resolution clip as long as it still looks good.
>>889855
sauce plz ?

>>889869
what kind of style music does this counts as?
It sounds for kinda chill hip hop music but is there anything more specific?
>>892084
It does take them a while to get on with solving the murder, and there generally isn't high tension of 'a muderer on the loose.' It definitely picks up near the end, but that's hard to avoid with a mystery style show. I can't say it's remarkable as I generally don't watch mystery. I more appreciated the character's and the art design of the series.
I think (as is generally true with mystery/thriller) it'd probably benefit from marathoning so all the small details stick from one episode to the next. It can also help remedy slower pacing.
>>892044
You can still watch 800x450 clips in fullscreen, if you want. The quality is just going to get worse if you try to up the resolution while keeping the same filesize.

BL is better than a lot of dubs, but that doesn't mean it actually sounds good, a lot of the performances sound very flat and emotionless still.
>>892417
Maybe I don't want to listen to voices recognizable from Saturday Morning Cartoons in my edgy action anime? It's one of the things that takes me completely out of dubs.
An example of a good dub is Cowboy Bebop, which actually had good voice performances.

>Maybe I don't want to listen to voices recognizable from Saturday Morning Cartoons in my edgy action anime? It's one of the things that takes me completely out of dubs.
>An example of a good dub is Cowboy Bebop, which actually had good voice performances.
This guy gets it. The good voice actors are the good actors and the english ones want to do live action. The pool of good english voice actors is puny compared to japans.
Id recommend only two dubs total, bebop and dbz kai, and mostly just because of the crappy recording setups they must have been using at the time, the helsing and FMP brotherhood dubs hired well but so did the natives.

>>892606
Thx :D
>>892683
WfR actually uses a separate frame seeking library, which is substantially faster then ffmpeg (which decodes up to time X when you use -ss). This other library has it's bugs though, a big one being that it doesn't work if the container has more than 10(?) total streams (audio, video, text).
>>892691
It's not actually a big deal, and you do get finer control over what and how you do something (dctdnoiz vs atadenoise and their parameters eg noise sigma level and block area).
If speed and trimming is what you're concerned with then you should be mpv with the webm generation addon.
