It's an enjoyable show, obviously it's not got an amazing plot obviously, it's slice of life. However it has some really likeable characters and it's funny and heartwarming at times. It's cute without being sickly on top of being just a really happy show all the way through. It's also really nicely animated and has good voice acting. Yeah sure it's probably disregarded as moeshit by most and it was by me at first but I watched it and loved it. It's an expertly crafted slice of life.

the main difference Brotherhood could follow the manga exactly because it was nearly done by 2009, the 2003 series outpaced the manga almost immediately (it wouldn't get finished until fucking 2010, 6 years after the original series ended) so the 2003 series is very different in a lot of areas

Still wrong, and it's far more clear in the 2nd episode's OP. The only thing that comes close is the shots of the Kabane/Titans, and even then that's a stretch due to it being at different times and the camera isn't spazzing out in Kabaneri. You also can't say "Well they're fighting the Kabane and that's just like fighting the titans" because that's just plain wrong and fighting the enemy is always prevalent in shonen OPs anyway.
I could be autistic and do a frame-by-frame analysis but that would fill up my post and I don't want to throw it in a pastebin because it's just a waste of time.

I heard it got better, but I couldn't get into FMA:B because it had a serious case of mood whiplash; one scene that I still remember is when the corrupt preacher in the desert town was holding the girl hostage and assumes Alphonse is the "Fullmetal Alchemist," which of course sends Ed into a manlet tirade. This is smack dab in the middle of a really tense scene where the preacher has a gun up to someone's head, and I do mean smack dab; it goes from super serious to superdeformed-chibi rant and IMMEDIATELY and back to serious again in a 30-second span.
Some things don't translate well from mango to animu, and that includes gags like that; while a panel or two in the manga isn't as tone breaking, when you have VAs do the whole rant it's way too much.
