ITT: GAMES where the Protagonist was a girl all along.
Galaga had an ending?
Pretty much every Compile shmup had a female protagonist. Gun Nac was actually about a witch who conjured up a ship, but this sequence was removed for the American release.
>>3292893
I think that's Galaga 88
I have the PCE version and got 5 of the 8 endings (4 routes on normal mode, 4 routes on hard mode). There is no woman ending...
Baraduke. To the point that even in Namco x CAPCOM, a few characters think Kissy is a boy.
>additional playable character
>levels that actually tie in with the plot
>MJ music
>changes in the plot as you progress through the game
>non-dipshit special stages
>a save system
>arguably better graphics
Why do you still like Sonic 2 more than 3&K?
Chemical Plant
>plot
Although I agree, there's one edge that Sonic 2 has: bosses. Most Sonic 3&K bosses have an insane exploit or are just far too gimmicky or easy to outsmart.
Enjoying Super Ghouls And Ghosts. Funny that GnG arcade has NO double jumps, but they were added into the SNES version.
What are some other platformers with in-air action?
>>3292101
Air jumps are for casuals.
That's such a good fucking game, dude. How far are ya'?
>>3292102
Not when you can't control your direction mid-air
>>3292102
Yeah sure, they are for casuals.
Also, I'd say, I don't know if it counts as a double, maybe triple or quadruple jump, but I really like Yoshi's Island, it's Kirby but not broken, the flutter limit and the fact your weight matters when you're falling makes it comfortable and intuitive as fuck to use, yet challenging if used incorrectly with shit timing.
Out Run would be perfect if I could change the car to a pick up truck.
A pick-up truck would be very tall, wouldn't it? It'd be difficult to see anything from behind it.

Sega had a commercial tie-in with Ferrari that time so it was a big cash-cow they had to milk.
However the sequel, Outrunners gave you other vehicle and character choices. I remember one of them being a dune buggy but no trucks
I love how the Ferrari looks more like a Beetle at the top.
What games have that perfect slick control that makes you feel good when playing?
Shinobi 3.
my peenus weenus

Magical Pop'n. It's like a good ninja gaiden

the underwater bit from earthworm jim
What's the best version of this to get? I much prefer the European soundtrack, so that rules out the Gems Collection on PS2 and the 1996 PC port.
>>3290946
The Steam one. You will need to replace the opening tracks though since there was legal bullshit.
>>3290946
>Sonic CD The Hedgehog
Why has he adopted two final initials? Is it something to do with Heitor TP, the Simply Red guitarist?
>>3290946
Mega cd one as it has everything intact and the original physics which are changed in the pc version.
Were you tricked by the cover into renting this game from the rental store?
No, but I was tricked into buying the sequel for the Sega Saturn.
At least it has a Brian May soundtrack, I guess.
Not really, looks gross now, looked gross then
Some vr babies will defend this game and say it was good. It was not.
Did you know Master System outsold NES in South Korea (the good Korea)?
Proof - http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Third_generation_of_video_games
wouldn't be surprised if it outsold the nes in australia
Well, yeah. The Master System was pretty much the perfect console for uncivilized countries.
>>3288789
More evidence Korea>Japan
I don't know about the rest of you, but I just beat Donkey Kong Country 3 and I for one, find it to be the best of the three kong games.
I legitimately enjoyed this more than the first two installments. What's with the general hate?
I generally hate the fact that you made this thread
Personally I don't hate it, I just find it lacking on all fronts when compared to the previous installments. Especially DKC2. The soundtrack is utterly forgettable, Kiddy plays like shit, the art direction feels completely off, the bears get old really fast and it's a bit too collectathony for its own good. Neat overworld, though, and I'll always have a soft spot for Baron K. Roolenstein.
>>3284421
we just had this thread. use the fucking catalog
R-recent buys thread maybe?
You fixed it! Wow and it's still sealed. Nice buy, op.
We were just pokin' fun at you in the previous thread.
>>3280414
Its not sealed, just a thin plastic cover.
Pls no bully ;w;
Does anyone here have the zip of these RetroArch borders? Not my pic obviously.
Also Super Game Boy thread in general. I genuinely wish more games made use of it and I wish I knew enough about Game Boy hacking to make games like Super Mario Land 2 use it.
Also does anyone here have a Super Game Boy 2? Is it worth it over the first Super Game Boy?
>>3295185
Super Game Boy 2 basically just had a link port so that people could trade/battle Pokemon.
Where did you find that picture, though? I thought Super GB couldn't play Game Boy Color games...
>>3295569
It can't play purple carts, but it'll play the black cart games in black & white, just like a regular GB.
Super Game Boy 2 plays games at the proper speed, that alone is worth the extra $5.
What are some genres that you enjoyed when you were younger, but now cannot stand.
I loved JRPGs and its sub-genres in the past, but now I cannot stand them..
Tried playing through Shining Force 2 a moment ago for nostalgia's sake, but literally could not be bothered to even get to the first battle. I just quit right there.
>>3294791
I'm with you, famicom. These kinds of games seem like they can only be enjoyed when you're young or NEET. Becoming a fulltime wagey absolutely destroyed this genre for me.
Platformers. I used to play a ton of them when I was young but now I just need more out of a game. Except MegaMan, he will never get old.
Hey /vr/ I really wanna set up an emulation station in my living room for retro games since me and my roommates don't watch TV often, but wanted to know if there's any sort of possible set up that would allow my roms to go into a 'demo play' kinda mode when no one's been playing for a while? I want it to have an arcade system kinda feel where (in a perfect set up) it would randomly demo-play games but simply picking up a controller and pressing a button would cut to the games list and allow for quick pick-up-and-play.
Is anything like this remotely...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Lots of front ends will auto play a recorded video. Download from YouTube.
>>3294296
I mean, I guess if that's the only way to do it then so be it, downloaded video seems kinda weak though.
>>3294294

You're welcome OP
Just got these for cheapon the 3DS VC.Which one of the two should I play first and should I play Link's Awakening first?
>>3293809
>should I play Link's Awakening first?
Yeah, probably. The oracle games are much bigger. Link's Awakening might feel underwhelming if you play it right after them.
>>3293809
That 3ds sale eh?
>>3293809
Seasons is more action-oriented and focused on fighting shit. Ages is more focused on puzzles and a bit slower paced.
Whichever style you prefer, play that one second.
