Is anyone ever going to finish translating this?
This would be one English translated reproduction I'd actually buy.

Both. Console games were for when Mom and Dad needed to work, and PC games were for when they wanted to use the TV.

Eventually my parents got a nice office computer for themselves and let us have "the family computer," which we were free to mess around with, although we still had a lot of console games. Having multiple ways in which we could play games was especially important in a house with multiple kids since we didn't have to fight each other as much for a turn (though we still did have occasional...

104 KB,
Why is the Net Yaroze so expensive? I mean, I can understand why:
>black Playstation
>dev kits
>demo discs
>online sharing of demo discs
>no continent restrictions, play US/Australian/European games on your Japanese console!
But I didn't think it'd be this expensive, not passing $1,300, at least, and this is the cheapest one.

Is there any reason to buy an original Atari 2600?
My friend does RGB modding for the system, and it looks damn good. It's made me want one. But looking at it's library of games, they just don't seem like they are actually worth playing more than once or twice for a little bit of time.

There are a lot of fantastic games on Atari depending on your taste. Some interesting ports have been done as well. Check out: Kung Fu, double dragon, berserk, hero, pitfall, frogs and flies, adventure, defender, Mario bros, and river raid. Those games all make an rgb Atari well worth it

I dunno about the whole "Inafune didn't create Mega Man" thing that I seem to keep seeing lately, though. Kitamura did make a sprite of Mega Man first, it's true, but Inafune designed what we now think of as Mega Man today in official art, based off of that sprite. Had it been anyone else, Mega Man could have looked very different. Just look at how the Mega Man from Captain N turned out based on someone else's interpretation of the in-game sprite with nothing else to go on. So at the very least, I think Inafune should at least be credited as co-creator,...

Shitting on Inafune has become a meme. A lot of people who dump on him probably have only a vague idea of who he is, just that he is hated and therefore they should hate him as well. And, I completely agree with you. He did do a lot of illustration for the series and played a part in the iconic art style. He also gave us Zero. The way some talk about it you'd think that he had no involvement with the franchise besides "taking credit" and having his name slapped on the game. I wonder how many people shit on Disney saying "NUH-UH you don't deserve any...

Need For Speed 3 Hot Pursuit (5).jpg
143 KB,
Hi /vr/, I come from /g/ seeking your help.

I am trying to get Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit to run on Ubuntu 14.04 and it's giving me a hard time.

I've tried installing it via PlayonLinux which, after some workarounds, ended with me being able to access the menu and load up a race, but the game then crashed when the track was loaded (but before it was displayed).

Now I set up a VM with Windows 98 SE, installed SciTech Display Doctor to have access to resolutions other than 640x480 16 colors (not 16 bit, 16 colors = 4 bit). Now my display is...

Why do adventure game fans hate Myst?
53 replies and 6 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
I wouldn't hold the opinion of adventure game fans in high regard as they're the type of autists that don't like Grim Fandango based on the way it controls (completely forgetting the brilliant writing, setting, graphics, style, music, etc)

Myst however commercialized the genre in a way that hadn't been seen before, and I assume for an adventure game fan popular=bad

Pretty sure you meant to say
"Why do adventure game fans love Myst?"
For maximum trolling potential
>>
the game lacks a visible protagonist and a clear narrative (it has one, but it's told more indirectly). Most of the puzzles are isolated and not natural aspects of the game world

I want to pour a lot of hours on a comfy retro JRPG this Summer, so options are these games, Dragon Warrior 7 or Xenogears for the PSX

I just really want a decent story and combats and the sensation of being part of an adventure.

What sick finds have you found on eBay?

I'm about to win a Mega man X for SFC on ebay for $11.50, beats paying $30.00+

http://www.ebay.com/itm/371661093764?_trksid=p2046732.m570.l5998&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI371661093764.N35.S2.R1.TR2

I also won a North American Mega Man X2 loose cart for $21.00 a couple weeks ago. That felt good.

I found a ClearTunes prison inmate issued game console a few months back, that was pretty cool.

Is n64 emulation still garbage?
