One of my favorites from DKC2, but I feel like it gets overlooked a lot since everyone fawns over Stickerbrush Symphony.
So what are some other really good bits of /vr/ music that get overlooked, whether because the rest of the soundtrack is so good, or because the game wasn't very popular?
Every song in Ducktales besides the moon one.
Castlevania Bloodlines and Mega Turrican are two Genesis games that don't sound like ass
>>2776176
Three games with shitloads of renders easily available yet every single DKC related thread that has been created on /vr/ since the board began uses the same box art in the OP.
Just pointing that out.
Don't mind me I'm just one of the best N64 games of all time.
>>2776134
I never played the first one but the second one was much better.
>>2776134
i loved this game but snowboard kids two was better. Thats how a sequel should be though. I wish it was the 1990's still
>>2776137
>worse tracks
>worse soundtrack

Ok.
Are you ready?
For what?
>>2776131
further disappointment i assume. granted you have to care.

Well, I got burned. Bought New Horizons for $20 from half.ebay.com with a description stating, "Cart in very, very good condition. Art too!" Couldn't beat that price and I've been looking for the game for some time so I grabbed it.
As you can see, the label is a far cry from very, very good. There's some tearing on the top which is unsalvageable of course, but there's also some kind of sticker residue you can see on the front. What's the best method the carefully remove this? It's definitely from some old sticker that was ripped...

for removing sticky residue a little bit of lighter fluid works wonders. just don't let it seep through or the entire label will slide right off.
I got some sticky crap off of the back of an NES cart where the caution label was by spraying some Goo Gone on a paper towel and rubbing the sticky stuff off. The regular caution label is still on there.
>>2775894
I'm going to assume its not laminated any more?
If its still laminated then you can wipe it down easily.
If its not laminated you have to be incredibly careful. You can easily cause the labels ink to run. I would recommend not even bothering.
Best bet is just to message the seller and try and get a partial refund for it not being in the stated condition.
I've heard of people using packing tape to re-laminate but thats just going to lock it into its current state.
Flashcart = Emulation > Youtube > Authentic copies >>> Reproduction carts >>>>>> Sealed copies
The objective truth,
Thanks for another useless thread, OP.
>>2775869
Flashcart = Emulation = Authentic Copies > Reproduction Carts >>> Videos
I don't know how a sealed copy counts since you aren't playing it?
>>2775869
Your bait = low quality. The objective truth.
Once you get past the Engrish the intro for Zero Wing is actually really damn cool.
Why do you even care about the intro? I mean, except for the music. About the Engrish, I always find it charming.
>>2775843
This isn't news. How old are you again?

Was probably the first retro game to become a meme with web2.0 before "meme" was even said much.
I don't care about store crap, but it'll be sad to see the end of one of the best youtube channels

Pic related
So who got/had the goods?
That's not even the best OST in that series.
everyone else can go home now
That's easy. Find me a good fighting game with bad music. Now that's hard.
What RPG's (J, W, or A) let character utilize or build around guns as a combat option or as the central gameplay?
Playing like pic related is not necessary, but is a bonus. I already played Arcanum and Alpha Protocol.
Fallout
Jagged Alliance
>>2775659
It's not central, but guns are an option in most of the SMT games.
Wild Arms is a big one that I can think of.
Why do some Transfer Paks come with a grey sticker and some with a purple one? Everything but the colour seems to be exactly the same.
Is it the difference between Transfer Paks included with Pokemon Stadium and Transfer Paks sold individually? If so which is which?
Making a thread because there is no N64 general
>Why does mine have to be purple?
'Cause you're a faggot.
>>2775575
Never heard of a purple one before, you sure it's legit?
>>2775617
Pretty sure, yeah and they aren't uncommon in Europe.
Why is it so hard to find a good way to play FF6.
>Roms are too choppy
>PS version has lag
>GBA version has bad music
>GBA hack too complicated
I JUST WANT TO PLAY IT DAMN IT
Play the SNES version.
How is that hard?
>>2775369
You must have one god-awful PC if it can't handle a SNES emulator.
>>2775369
pretty sure theres a prehacked gba rom floating around. Also in the time it took to make the post you could have patched the gba rom.
What does /vr/ think about Rise of the Triad ?
>>2775275
Doom clone.
Could be better.
Lets you play as a dog, therefore GOTY

A four and a half hour movie done in the Quake engine and I sat and watched all of it.

Giving recommendation lists this long makes you a shitty recommendation-giver. You're doing nothing but stroking your ego about how many you can name.
A decent recommendation would be 3-5 in different styles with a brief description of what kind of map it is so OP can decide what sounds interesting.
Might as well just link to Quaddicted and tell OP to sort by rating:
https://www.quaddicted.com/reviews/
At least there he can read a review and see screenshots.
What are some useful keyboard shortcuts for this game? Finding it quite difficult to navigate with such a stripped down UI compared to XCOM, which is the TBS I am most familiar with.
Also, any way of changing the setting where the camera moves to where the bullet eventually hits? Because of low accuracy this invariably moves the camera over to the other side of the map every time I shoot, which is fucking annoying.
Any tips on starting mercs too? I just bought a handful of cheap ones for 2 weeks. Is that good or bad?
>>2775041
Google ja2 hotkeys.
But ones I used a lot included 'r' and 's' for run and walk. 'B' to toggle between single shot and burst. Pageup and pagedn to crouch, go prone. Also 'alt' to sidestep around corners.
Also, play through the regular campaign once or twice, then download v1.13 and don't look back.
>>2775041
Most of the cheap starting mercs will be fine. A few will have conflicts with each other, like Barry and igor, or fox and buns. If you want to, you can hire a expensive merc for a day, and then keep his equipment when he leaves.
A team of 4 is a good start since you get Ira and Dimitri for free quite early.
Also anyone know if the 1.13 version of Urban Chaos is ok or should I just play it safe with the original?
