Hey /vr/ I need help I have a psp with cfw 5.00 and I want to play playstation games but can't get it too work please help
ps1 iso to eboot?
PSX2PSP
Follow the instructions.
Also upgrade that fucking cfw.
Alternatively, if you're lazy as fuck, google for "psx converted eboot".
emu paradise has all the psx games already converted to eboot files... just keep each eboot in a separate folder with your psp/game folder and you're set.

What kind of games did you used to play with your dad /vr/?
>Tekken 2 all the time
>all Crash games
>Croc
>Golden Axe
>Twisted Metal 2
>Street Fighter II
I also used to watch him play FFVII and Legend of Dragoon
Double Dragon II on NES
Plus, another beat 'em all on NES or Snes. Some japanese stuff.
none
my mom liked to play dr. mario though
>>2794084
Are you me?
Me and Pops used to play the Crash games, Twisted Metal 2, SF2, and I watched him play Legend of Dragoon/FFVII

Is this the best console for retro game emulation?
>>2793841
Original wii modding works great. Ouya is good if you have one laying around. It'll work with anything from ps1 and earlier. A small form factor pc would be best though
>>2793841
That's not a PC...
>>2793841
Absolutely 100% the original Xbox was the best for emulation. Most emulators were very well polished, and it could even run some N64 games as well; my roommate and I played through Harvest Moon 64 using the Project 64 port on the Xbox. One thing it even has over the Wii is the ability to output 720p or 1080i.
I'm in a mood of checking out this bad boy for the weekend. Will be using mednafen for it. What are the great games on the system? I already have Wario Land ready to go, so any other games?
how can you do a top ten list of a console that only has 14 fucking games!!??
Teleroboxer, Jack Bros, Vertical Force, Galactic Pinball, Panic Bomber, Mario's Tennis, Golf
If you can read japanese then you can also add Innsmouse no yakata and SD Gundam Dimension War
>>2793778
>No virtualboy Warioland
What's the matter with you!? You forgot the all time best game on the console, AND one of the best Warioland games.
hey guys does anyone remember this gem?
Rare collactathons were never good. Totally missed everything that made Mario 64 great and expanded on what didn't work very well. Tedious horseshit.
>>2793504
some worlds were fun though, but around bubblegloop swamp you could see that the team were running out of ideas and the level design took a drastic snowdive.

Let's be real here /vr/. Everyone believes that Mega Man 3 was superior to 2 in every way, right?
Glitchy messes aren't better than timeless classics, no.
Pretty much, people who disagree are covert spies from reddit.
It is objectively better.
Hello /vr/
I'm an eurofag and somewhat a perfectionist, well maybe not in the scale of true retro gamers. I would like to play NES games on an CRT TV. I have a PAL Wii softmodded. Now do you think it would be worth it to buy NTSC NES, get it shipped and go through the shit of finding good CRT, making sure it supports NTSC 60Hz, get right power cable and so on? If I'm going to buy a real NES it's going to be NTSC, I don't want slowed down 50Hz games. (I'm aware of the optimization on some of them) I guess there's no a reliable mod on PAL NES to...

I would emulate because blowing on the cartridge and losing your saves all the time is some bullshite.
My general experience with PAL has been that it's always inferior. Even if you can mod the console to hit 60hz, they generally have a messed up crystal oscillator that actually locks the framerate to 59.7 or some shit, which means that I have to adjust my set every time I want to use my mega drive because it's all shifted over.
My short foray into NES stuff made me realise it's a hassle. You need the US power supply, because for some dumb-shit reason the NES uses AC. My Famicom uses the same fucking plug as my Super Famicom, which is also shared by my Mega...

Yea that's what I was afraid of, that it's just gonna turn into a big hazzle. But can't I just get a spare DC cable with the same output as NES needs? I'm not aware of these things.
>>2793101
Well boohoo, I would of course take care of the cartridges, and clean them well instead of blowing in them. And that would be cool and all to own the real thing, but I forgot to mention that I would buy Flash cartridge.
Not cool Nintendo.
Retro Games
>>2793009
Not /vr/ guy.
>clipping like that still exists in 2015
god damn
Has anyone used one of these to play retro Light Gun games? I have a CRT, but it's flat screen. Heard normal Sony/etc light guns don't work on flat screen CRTs.
>>2792987
As I see in the manual, this gun have the same principle of work as Wiimote, so if you happen to have a Wii, you can just connect your Wiinote.
How much does it cost?
>>2792995
Don't have a wii and never have. Don't know much about how they work. I think this is like $95 or something. Just interested to hear about it/alternatives
It's only HDCRTs that don't work with conventional light guns, not all flat CRTs are HDCRTs. The worst problem you might have is dodgy accuracy at the very corners.
What is your favorite retro party game /vr/?
Co-op, party, anything that applies.
>>2792868
If everyones into it I love Gauntlet Legends, but most people find it boring.
Usually just something like mario party, or the most likely scenario is we play a single player game and just pass off the controller.
Worms Armageddon or Hogs of War, probably
Playing Majora's Mask for the first time and I have to say it is amazing! Got any tips for me? I'm playing it on an emulator.
>>2792851
>playing Majoras Ass
>not playing Wind Waker
SCRUB ALERT
>>2792851
Well I preferred the 3DS version, but it's a great experience none the less, the differences are not huge outside of the graphical overhaul. Great game, it recycles some models from OoT but still manages to build a world that's very different from any traditional Zelda game.
My tip is don't use guides and write down Clock Town characters' schedules yourself.
>>2792871
MM and WW are my two favorite Zelda games, but for very different...

Yeah, depending on what kind of gamer you are you might not want to attempt 100% the first time around. Also, the Japanese version is significantly harder, do with that information what you will.
Who hipe for this?

How can I be hype when even the official site has no information on it?
If you're going to shill, at least provide something to read.
>>2792212
I would if I had any info. There used to be a demo on it iirc, but it seems to have dissapeared so it may be my imagination.
Are there any "weird" RPGs before Mother 1?
Richard Garriot's Anal Escapes VII
>>2792094
Depends if you consider text adventures to be rpgs. Outside of that, I can't think of any but it's not my area of expertise. JRPGs didn't exist long before mother and crpgs were still very basic. Mother was pretty much the first break from the D&D formula.
>>2792204
"I can't think of any but it's not my area of expertise"
"Mother was pretty much the first break from the D&D formula"
Yeah, I guess that makes sense.
