emu paradise has all the psx games already converted to eboot files... just keep each eboot in a separate folder with your psp/game folder and you're set.

Original wii modding works great. Ouya is good if you have one laying around. It'll work with anything from ps1 and earlier. A small form factor pc would be best though

Absolutely 100% the original Xbox was the best for emulation. Most emulators were very well polished, and it could even run some N64 games as well; my roommate and I played through Harvest Moon 64 using the Project 64 port on the Xbox. One thing it even has over the Wii is the ability to output 720p or 1080i.

I'm an eurofag and somewhat a perfectionist, well maybe not in the scale of true retro gamers. I would like to play NES games on an CRT TV. I have a PAL Wii softmodded. Now do you think it would be worth it to buy NTSC NES, get it shipped and go through the shit of finding good CRT, making sure it supports NTSC 60Hz, get right power cable and so on? If I'm going to buy a real NES it's going to be NTSC, I don't want slowed down 50Hz games. (I'm aware of the optimization on some of them) I guess there's no a reliable mod on PAL NES to...

I would emulate because blowing on the cartridge and losing your saves all the time is some bullshite.
My general experience with PAL has been that it's always inferior. Even if you can mod the console to hit 60hz, they generally have a messed up crystal oscillator that actually locks the framerate to 59.7 or some shit, which means that I have to adjust my set every time I want to use my mega drive because it's all shifted over.
My short foray into NES stuff made me realise it's a hassle. You need the US power supply, because for some dumb-shit reason the NES uses AC. My Famicom uses the same fucking plug as my Super Famicom, which is also shared by my Mega...

Has anyone used one of these to play retro Light Gun games? I have a CRT, but it's flat screen. Heard normal Sony/etc light guns don't work on flat screen CRTs.

As I see in the manual, this gun have the same principle of work as Wiimote, so if you happen to have a Wii, you can just connect your Wiinote.

It's only HDCRTs that don't work with conventional light guns, not all flat CRTs are HDCRTs. The worst problem you might have is dodgy accuracy at the very corners.

Well I preferred the 3DS version, but it's a great experience none the less, the differences are not huge outside of the graphical overhaul. Great game, it recycles some models from OoT but still manages to build a world that's very different from any traditional Zelda game.
My tip is don't use guides and write down Clock Town characters' schedules yourself.

Yeah, depending on what kind of gamer you are you might not want to attempt 100% the first time around. Also, the Japanese version is significantly harder, do with that information what you will.

Depends if you consider text adventures to be rpgs. Outside of that, I can't think of any but it's not my area of expertise. JRPGs didn't exist long before mother and crpgs were still very basic. Mother was pretty much the first break from the D&D formula.
