I'm trying to retrieve the name of a robot game I played on the original PlayStation one console. it is a robot game that I think takes place on mars or some other planet. it is a 3d top down game much like baldurs gate style. You control these small, clown like robots and as you progress through out the game you can unlock stronger robots. Unfortunately this is all that I remember. Is there a chance anyone on here might know what I am talking about?
>>3332523
Why is the Iron Giant that tall compared to the others?
>>3332523
forgot to mention the robots didn't have legs, but a wheel, they reminded me of bowling pins.
>>3332523
Voltron?
I know there is a new Titanic game in development but who knows if it will ever actually come out.
Why hasn't this game been made into a movie yet? It's so fucking perfect.
>>3332460
Decent point and clicker.
The espionage narrative with the aim of preventing WWI is commendable.
Shame that moment in history is so commercialized and mawkish now.
>>3332460
Pretty good fully rendered environments. This came out before the movie, but they got many locations very accurate to the actual thing, I played this many times back in the day, but lately its harder since i dont have a proper VM
Well, the guy that originally made Megaman 1 & 2 did a Titanic Adventure Game so ambitious that flopped and bankrupted the company, so who knows if it's any good.
It's moonrunes only as well, and as far as I know there seems to be no interest in the romhacking to community to translate it.
Which version of this should I emulate? I've heard there's apparently something different wrong with the graphics on every version?
Saturn version is shit with heavy slowdowns. Not even the pointless added stuff makes it worthwhile. So PSX it is.
I like the stupid ass cheesy American dialog of PSX, so do that one.
PSP version has
1) original japanese voice acting with superior Norio Wakamoto and english subs
2) extra content that was in the original japanese PS1 release but cut on the west
3) playable Maria (with her Rondo moveset, not her Saturn one)
4) best ending credits music unless you really like cheesy 90s rhythm and blues that doesn't fit with the rest of the game
Why is everyone saying that this boss is so hard? It's fucking piss easy if you ask me.
Always thought he was a bit harder in castlevania 1 desu. Dracula's an asshole in this game though

What's your favorite /vr/ in-game item?
>>3331560
Probably the screw attack.
>>3331560
This one is more of a guilty pleasure, since it makes the game basically impossible to lose.
What are some good atari games to get? The only one I'm still actively hunting a cheap copy of is Adventure, which for some reason I either never find or find in bad condition for stupid prices.
Pic is my current collection. Any good ones I should look for on top of these?
Also is a harmony flashcart worth it? I would like to play homebrew and supercharger games.
While we're at it, feel free to post games you like, games you suck at, or videos of people doing absurdly well at games you like and/or suck at.
Here's somebody maxing the score out in Chopper Command on Game 3, Difficulty AA.

Phoenix is pretty cool, and it doesn't look like you have it. My personal faves are Centipede, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, DK Jr, and Warlords. And yes, I actually love 2600 Donkey Kong, it's my favorite port. The port of DK Jr is generally more well regarded. All of the Star Wars games are worth a play if you like Star Wars.
Pitfall 2, Dark Chambers, HERO, Montezuma's Revenge, Ghost Manor, Supercharger
My cousins are going to stay at my home for some weeks. Tell me about good 2-player games for either Genesis, SNES or PSX

Super Mario Kart
Kirby's Fun Pak
>tfw 6 year old son visits for summer with me for first time
>tfw he has adhd and wants to switch roms every 5 seconds
why lord.
why have you forsaken me.

contra: hardcorps
If you're expecting kids today to have the attention span for anything that doesn't constantly reward them, brace for disappointment.
There's a reason modern games suck and it's these spoiled little brats.
Genesis:
Gunstar Heroes
Streets of Rage 2
Golden Axe
Contra: Hard Corps (hard as balls)
SNES:
Super Bomberman
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Smash TV (hard as balls)
Mario Kart
PSX:
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Tekken 2
Future Cop LAPD
Crash Team Racing
So who here remembers this Atari gem? Was fun as fuck with two players, esp the alternate mode that blanked out part of the maze. Also inb4 James & Mike mondays, 'caus it's totally not because of that that i'm posting this is 100% original ok, plus it was BOOTSY THIS WEEK SO HAHA FAGGOT!
I remember being like 5 and going to my aunts house for the first time (early 90's)
I had a nes and sega an snes at the time.
When they pulled out an atari and joust, I felt really weird. Like I shouldnt be there.
TLDR: atari is for cultists
>>3331265
So Atari thread anyone?
Anyone want to list some of the best 2600 games?
What are some of your favorite game over tracks? I feel these are underappreciated because they let you know you fucked up.
Here are two of my favorites.

The one from Altered Beast will be always the best for me. It's so chill and nice that doesn't make you feel bad for losing

Specifically the kind that /vr/ accepts only or does that include non-/vr/ consoles too?
How about duplicates of the same system, or different revisions?
Only consoles, because there are great retro computers that play games too? Maybe even graphic calculator Tetris? What about the LCD games such as those from Nintendo's Game & Watch, Konami, or Tiger?
>>3330750
What if the most /vr/ console I have is a new famiclone?
>>3330750
>No Atari 5200
What a failure.
What are some old gems with unconventional gameplay/settings you don't see in modern games which you'd like to see a nice new fan remake of?
Pic related is called Hidden Agenda where you take the role of new South American Presidente and involves a complex political system you need to control avoid a coup against you.
>>3330740
i want to play this
The Aerobiz games were very different
>>3330740
What if I choose Resist Coup?
The "Resign" choice means Game Over, I suppose.

Yes! This game.
There was a kick starter campaign for remake, but sadly it never pulled through.
Though I don't think this game needs a remake, it's still fun and replayability is high.
I always notice something new each time I play.
I think after second playthrough some of the maps will have snow theme. Only found out that last year
It's literally Team Fortress on SEGA
Except there is no hats
retro video games thread
>Mega Man 7 was bad meme
How did it start?
>Mega Man 7 is underrated meme
How did it start?
>>3330284
It probably started from the Mega Man 7 was bad meme. But how did that one start?
Have no real idea why people dislike 7 or 8 either for that matter. Both aren't nearly the best in the series or as good as the NES MM games but still fun to play..
The unskippable cutscenes and shit menus do bring 7 down a notch though
>PS2
Not retro, get out nigger.
>>3330235
ayy my man psone and Saturn used discs, peanut butter and plain tooth paste both work good make sure neither have shit in them good luck boss
>>3330264
This.
I thought this was a fucking joke at first. But smearing toothpaste over the disc definitely works.
