Hey guys, im looking for something fun to play with my not-really-a-gamer girlfriend.
Any ideas as to any retro games you think we may be able to enjoy together? All i really have in mind right now is Bomberman and Hello Kitty World (she's a pretty big fan of hello kitty and cats in general)

So I got around to reading the Umihara manga and it's almost completely unrelated to the game, except for the looks of the main character and her being able to use a lure that stuns.
Her name also seems to be written 海原 instead of the usual 海腹 (both read the same way, though). First name is unchanged.
In the manga Umihara seems to possess some power to breath underwater, and this is why she is targeted by some evil organization that also has captured her grandfather...

So I finally beat Megami Tensei 1with cheats
Obviously I am too fucking casual for dungeon crawlers this old, so what I did was make my own cheat codes! If anyone is interested in them, here they are

What communities? This is /vr/ bro. Back in /vr/ times, the "communities" were whatever guys you'd meet at the arcades, or your own group of friends. There was no Facebook, no Twitter, no EVO, no internet drama.
Best way to enjoy retro fighting vidya is get a friend (or more), grab a few beers, sit on the couch, and have fun.
Playing through Fightcade online is not really /vr/-related.
For the most part, the online experience is not /vr/-related period, and big tourneys like EVO aren't either.

You probably don't want to hear this, but if you want something more friendly to new players, play a new fighter. The player base will be a lot larger and have more players of your skill level to play against.
Pretty much anyone still playing retro fighters has been playing them for years so unless you're really skilled there's not much point. It's just as boring to fight someone much lower than your skill as it is someone much higher.

Started a new game of Vagrant Story. Just got to the first workshop. Any ideas on what to do with my current weapons? Should i dump some or combine? Maybe need to find more?

Without looking at guides (I never did), you can try to combine 2 pieces of equipment of the same class/part and close stats to each other, and generally, the outcome will be better than both pieces used.
Combining strong pieces with weak pieces yields a shitty/average outcome that's worse than the stronger you're combining. And thus a waste.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is coming to Steam in less than 48 hours. But Turok 3 is best Turok, and my body is ready for a remaster to fix the many, many bugs and missing features.
Turok 3 > Turok: Dinosaur Hunter > Turok 2 > Turok 2008 > Watching Paint Dry > Turok: Evolution.A lot of folks will argue that Turok 2 is best Turok. I assume you've played Skies of Arcadia. If you liked that (and you should!) you should check out Panzer Dragoon Saga. Even though it's by a different team it feels like a proto-Skies in a lot of ways (namely the flying around and the aerial combat).
