.
Fun game. Data East was nuts during this era.
nothing like a fat guy with wings that spits bullets

if you ain't got shit to say i ain't gonna tell you what to think, fag.
Did GB games age poorly?
Only because the batteries tend to die after 20 years, but it's easy to replace them if you have a bitgame screwdriver.
SML doesn't use battery anyway, so not that particular game.
>>2860839
Did YOU age poorly?
>>2860846
very funny you autist.
>>2860839
Yes. Funny how I still get the same amount of enjoyment from NES games that i played back in the day, but i find the same GB games that i used to love to be practically unplayable these days. But i think it's LARGELY because i'm playing them on my computer screen now. gb games really should be played on a small screen.
Have any of you actually beat this game? Is it best played 1 player or co-op? 55 levels seems like it could get brutal towards the end. Regardless, I'm hoping to get the cartridge this week.
>general Zombies Ate My Neighbors thread
bosses are a slog if you use passwords since you'll be underarmed
>>2857797
never have beaten it, own only the sega genesis version because i like not having my view clouded by a map, fucking love the game.
Beat it using the BCDF password. Probably the hardest game I've been able to beat. Definately better 1P, co-op is fun but makes the game that much harder.
Enjoy it, anon. Wonderful little game.
>UNTESTED AS IS FOR REPAIR OR PARTS
why is this allowed
>>2856156
>why is this allowed
For repair or parts, I would imagine.
>>2856156
Would you rather them just throw it away when someone else might be able to use it?
Is this worth it at all?
>>2855383
Tomb Raider is ok on it.
>>2855386
Also pretty sure there's a port of Chu Chu Rocket on the N-Gage.
>>2855383
no
unless you're a collector in which case it's about as useful as the other pieces of plastic you've hoarded around the house
Hey /vr/
I am going on Vacation this week and I want to bring my Gameboy DMG and flashcard with me to Cuba. I was wondering if the airport people will loose their shit if I have a devices like this ?
>>2863943
You only have to worry of there are ROM sniffing dogs OP. If that happens prepare for some Midnight Express type shit to go down.
Remember, winners don't use ROMs. -Some FBI Asshole
>>2863943
They might think it is an explosive/illegal device honestly. Or they might realize what it is and simply confiscate it from you. Good luck with that - drink a Cuba Libre for me.
>>2863943
I think even with the new relaxed restrictions a GB is considered too high tech to import to Cuba.
I only played Radiant Silvergun. How different is Ikaruga compared to it?
>>2863371
Completely different, they aren't really related at all besides sharing the same direction.
Babby's first shmup.
ITT we discuss classic video golf games, mods, etc.
Is Tiger Woods PGA Tour or Mario Golf the greatest of all time?
Mario Golf is ridiculously fun, especially playing with friends. The mini golf stages, man.
But I'd say the best Golf game I've played is Neo Turf Masters.
Golf (aka T&E Golf) on the Virtual Boy is also surprisingly good, believe it or not.
There's also the Hotshots series on playstation, but I only played one on PS3 which is not retro. It seemed a lot like Mario Golf.
I love the pal long boxes for the Saturn. i think they are best packages for video games
i like how they look all side by side
>>2862807
the only problem.. they're pal
>>2862819
I'm looking into getting a super nintendo and a flash cart.
Is getting a stock SNES my best choice? or should I get a Retron or some knockoff shit that plays snes games?
Stock. But you should already know better than to get a goddamn Retron, anon...
>>2862809
I was just throwing it out there as an example
Stock SNES is fine. If you're in a PAL country consider looking into modding (SuperCIC) to widen your options a bit.
Stay away from Retron, which is pretty much an emulator box fitted with cartridge slots marketed towards idiots. If you do want to go the emulator route, there are shitloads of options, almost all of them better than the Retron.
I am in need of inspiration to get out of the depression I'm feeling from the current state of the game industry. Documentaries, interviews of old game developers, articles, anything.
I was a wee kid during the 90s, growing up through elementary with the prospect of one day becoming a game developer. All those cool games being out and the companies that thrived during that time excited me. I use to read articles and watch videos of the joy of this. I couldn't wait to go into this wild frontier of video games and make my own creations.
After learning...

I always heard the industry and large companies treat their devs shitty. Just make games you want to as a hobby for fun. I think that is the most rewarding.
Here is a 90s vid that shows internet flame war drama is nothing new.

Still good video. Thank you

What were your memories of books based on video games? Were there any games you wished were novelizationed?
I have comfy memories from the old days when my father would read to me during bedtime.
I still recall drifting off sleep as he read the Worlds of Power Mega Man 2.
I used to read the old Mario CYOA books, those were the shit. Though the characterizations were inconsistent. Anybody read the Zelda ones?
I read once a fan novelization of Xenogears in portuguese which also filled most of the gaps that CD2 left unanswered. Sadly, I can't find the site and I'm afraid it went down.
Most RPGs would greatly benefit from a decently-written novelization, actually.
The Blaster Master book was really good
What emulators are you using to play your retro games?
The emulator that starts roms when I stick my cock in your moms asshole.
>>2862084
So Zsnes?
>>2862084
Nesticle is pretty retro bro
Just got an Philips MSX2 and a Megaflashrom and dsks i'm dling aren't working.
Looking for good copies of dsk games including:
-snatcher english translation
-aleste 2 (don't know if there is a translation?)
-sd snatcher translation
Not really sure if my megaflashrom is handling dsks correctly.
>>2861876
Nice grab.
WOOMB did a translation for Aleste 2, but like their Xak patch it's not out in the wild. You can find SD Snatcher disks on Internet Archive (TOSEC) + the Oasis patch on romhacking.net, but I don't have Project Melancholia's re-translation.
>>2862051
not mine just off image search :\ i'll post some bvm rgb shots soon though if you like.
What a qt, the master system versions didn't have cute grills like that.
What are some games you wanted to play at some point in your life, but never got around to doing it?
Pic related BTW, and is SH3 worth playing today?
You could download the ROM and an emulator in less than 2 minutes if you really wanted to play it.
>>2861795
Not the US version.
>those fat bastards do a shitfuck of damage
>recovery takes too long
>without the roundhouse kick, later enemies take forever to kill.
>they change the way you do that move, and make it unresponsive EVEN WHEN YOU DO IT RIGHT.
>too stiff, questionable hit detection and choppy movement, you know, after SoR2 put the bar high
>>2861812
this
Like seriously nigga. You could be playing it right now.
