Who played Galactic Battlegrounds?
For an AoE reskin, it was pretty good.
Jedi were broken though
I am seeing now there's another RTS called Empire at War. Was this any good?
Used to play lan games of it with my cousin when we got bored of AOE2.
Great fun. I went back to it recently and aside from the resolution limitations and scratchy jarring sound effects, it still holds up as a fun AOE2 Clone
I never finished final fantasy 4, and I'd really like to play it. What should I know about which roms to use? I've heard the original SNES translation was really bad but I only ever played it on the PS1 in 2000 or something so I don't know firsthand how much they differ.
whatever you do don't play the original american realease because it's easy mode
>>2865658
SNES with namingway hack or the DS version. PS1 version if you can deal with load times.
>>2865658
GBA version, you get a decent translation with a nice graphical update without the shoddy 3D of the DS version or the terrible "updated style" of the PSP version. Music in IV was technically not that complex for the system so it transfers over to the GBA just fine, but a music patch exists if it bothers you.
Thoughts on this series?
only played the first one..
great song but sparse on content

Overhead throw is all you need.
The other robots don't have shit on the Jaguar in tournament mode. It's cheaper to upgrade and has useful hidden extras and simple destruct moves.

And once it gets boring move to Nova and become literally invincible.
Great soundtrack. The thing that killed it was how easy it was to find a way to exploit most characters, so there was no challenge.
Would anyone here be interested in playing CS with /vr/?
I know there are Steam groups for /vr/ games but a lot of them seem dead, so I have no clue if this would be a lost cause if put together. Even if it just lasted a week I'd be happy.
>>2864204
>Would anyone here be interested in playing CS with /vr/?
Chatting and playing together for hours? Seriously, no.
I fail to see how any sane person would come here for more than the occasional post.
>>2864209
a sane person wouldn't come to 4chan in first place
>>2864204
If you got enough people I probably would, I am more interested in playing different mods like rocket crowbar 2 or hostile intent or the specialists or something.
Hi /vr/, i would like to start playing jrpgs. Can you guys recommend me some good games to introduce myself to the genre?
>>2863739
Your picture does not do this topic justice. Allow me to interject with an appropriate non-biased one.
>pic related
Now, as for recommendations; which console will you be playing on?
>>2863739
Avoid 8 bit as an introduction. It's better to play those games later if you're curious to see how developers built the foundations of the genre. You should start with some of the best ones if you want a good first impression.
Since this is /vr/, I'm keeping it 16 to 32 bit.

Chrono Trigger is ideal introduction. Relatively short, not too difficult, high production values, memorable characters. The story makes no sense but that's to be expected from a JRPG.
I got this game from a bundle, and I tried it with the expectation it would be shit, but actually it's not as bad as I thought.
It's actually better than Wolfenstein 3D in some ways.
First of all it has an automap which removes most of the frustration with playing Wolfenstein 3D. Second, it actually has has a rocket launcher type weapon which doesn't share ammo with all the other weapons, pic related.
What do you think /vr/?
>>2862789
Looks interesting, Is it true ID gave Wisdom Tree
the source code to Wolfenstein 3D as a fuck you to Nintendo?
isn't this worth a bundle
Actually the automap was added to the Steam port.
Still makes the game much more fun to play than Wolfenstein though, but I'm sure some sourceport adds that to Wilfenstein too.
Is this a comfy controller for emulation?
It's got a fantastic D-pad and the analogs are very suitable for PSX games especially.
Not a fan of the shoulder buttons though but all in all it's a solid controller for emulation.
imo
Been pretty happy.
Sound/headsets doesnt work on pc and probably never will.
Touchpad works if you get inputmapper.
You need a Broadcom or intel Bluetooth card for shit to work...
Two controllers have reasonable input lag. Like 4-8ms
Adding a single a2dp headset bumps it up by 5ms.
Having several seoarste keyboards mice have been fine.
I hear the f510 is pretty good.
I've been collecting over the past year much more and doing so real cheap so thought it was worth a collection thread?
>>2859162
cool collection, is it hard to get any particular game out to play? Here's mine, wouldn't really call myself a collector, but I do play every single one of these.

Thanks, and yeah can be hopefully will have some shelves up soon and nice love gamecube games, probably what i'm gonna pick up next

It's just for fun m8. If you didn't like it you probably should of either ignored the thread entirely instead of bumping it.
It doesn't need to be electric guitar, right?

That was a great thread.
No one seems to discuss this series anymore. There are admittedly few retro games to discuss, but Spyro was nonetheless popular name during the fifth generation.
So, which game from the original trilogy was your favorite?
It's one of the few series that I like to play all of them. Minus the abortions on later consoles.

>No one seems to discuss this series anymore.
Because it's typical 90s big-eyed animal mascot shit, no different than Bubsy or Gex.

Can we roleplay our characters? Serious question.
>>2852141
I had ONE JOB

I think that is fine, but personally I would rather erotic roleplaying not become a part of it. Roleplaying would only add one more layer of fun.
