You can only change one aspect of the gameplay or presentation. What is it?

Make him trans.
Give him a health meter with at least 3 hits before death.

No more fall-deaths.
Just got these for £20, recent pick up thread?
Pic related for 60 quid
Got Gates of Zendocon, S.T.U.N Runner, Super Skweek, Klax and Zarlor Mercenary on the way too. The Lynx is still nice and cheap to get into.
>>2912154
What system are they for, SG-1000? They look gorgeously 80s
>>2912201
Damn thats a good price, the Lynx is one of those i've never knew much about but looks good, might have to think about getting one.
Yeah the SG-1000 all japanese imports
Can we have a thread about Koei? I don't see them discussed much on /vr/I got Sphere of influence recently and it's so good
I think they are simplistic strategy games overrated by weabos. Japan can't into grand strategy games.
>prepare to be romanced
>>2912073
Amerifags confuse micromanagement for complexity.
It was a miracle that I beat this with save states.
Ecco is a really cool game. It's too bad the difficulty is bullshit. A checkpoint after every crystal block would have been fine.
Did anyone actually beat this as a kid? How far did you get?
I once dated a girl who claimed to have beaten it, but I never could. Although, I do have many fond memories of this game in college from when I would give it to my intoxicated roommate and say "here, play this".
>>2912017
I'm a massive massive Ecco fan, and it took me a long ass time. I got stuck on the Asterite for so long that I ended up trying to find codes to a later level and discovered NNNNNNNN brings you to The Machine. I went back to just plugging away at Asterite and once I figured it out isn't really all that bad.
That said, the only part I think is unfairly hard is the very high jump in City of Forever. To this day it takes me at least a dozen tries before getting it right.
le artificial difficulty stoner dolphin XDDDDDD

Wish me luck, bros.Might & Magic universe thread?

>not inferno
step it up m8
>>2912437
I do not play Fortress for the "stepping it up", it's my best - and favourite - town. It's pretty good.
If I wanted to challenge myself, I'd play Tower and suffer through its shitty heroes and expensive everything. Though I guess I could just turtle until Titans.
I had a pretty good run with Mighty Gorgons on Back For Revenge, for example.
>>2912006
>Anonymous
assuming i'm reading this correctly, you are playing 1v1v1? pussy. play 2v1 if you want some semblance of a challenge.
/vr/ help me with this. I have an old computer gathering dust and I would like to turn it into an emulation machine. I was thinking of hooking it up directly to a TV and make the pc boot directly to some program that would start the emulators. I was wondering if any of you guys have experience with this or any advice, or if it's achievable at all?
>>2911953
No.
Theres absolutely no way to do what you're asking.
>>2911953
google search Retroarch.
read the rest there.

Thanks man
The world in Croc feels weirdly empty. It's like a shell of the world of Spyro except uninhabited except for the little furry things Croc is rescuing. Playing it feels like playing emptiness.
I wish someone would make a modern day game that captures this feeling. Maybe a horror game.
>>2911919
croc is a horror game
>>2911919
Surprisingly Epic Mickey feels that same way.

It's funny, I never really listened to this track and how fucking good it gets because in game you only hear about 40 seconds of it before you hit the wolfman form.
Another good track is Gain Ground's first world theme

From here on, only disappointment awaits.
Post the most expensive retro game in your collection /vr/. Come brag about spending huge sums of money on chunks of plastic and cardboard (or finding excellent deals on those items!)
Do we have any high-rollers here who own games like Stadium Events or NWC?
I own shining force CD, shining force 3 (NA), magic knight rayearth (saturn NA) and demons crest.
Those are probably my most expensive games.
Hey we actually haven't had this thread in a little while. Still have this old picture to drag out for whenever it pops up.
>>2911465
As far as "high rollers" go I know we have an anon with Magical Chase, and another with Little Samson. There's a few Duck Tales 2, Bubble Bubble 2, and Chip & Dale 2 floating around.
Battle Mania Daiginjou on the Mega Drive. Only available through mail order via a Japanese magazine. Very good game too.
I have Panzer Saga PAL version, Radiant Silvergun, Alien Soldier JAP version and MUSHA JAP version too.
Quite a few Japanese Mega Drive games are worth a surprising amount these days actually. I didn't pay too much for them 10/15 years ago.
Just bought one of these and I want to mod it for RGB - through the multi-out if possible. Hook me up v
>buying glorified clones
Get a real one. fag.
sure! You just need to identify the correct signals off the video chip. Ohwaityoucant! Your shitty system on a chip clone doesn't have one.
What are some western games well received in Japan? Pic related
wizardry
>>2911412
And Ultima and Might and Magic.
Suprisingly enough Lemmings 1 and 2 were released on the SFC. Neither Super Turrican nor The Lost Vikings managed to do that.
Not retro, but I remember at least one of the Medal of Honor games being fairly popular in Japan, though they were basically playing a murder simulator of their fathers and grandfathers.
Is Megadrive really obscure console in Japan?
It sold like 4 million units to the Super Nintendo's 19 million. It's not Xbox tier, but Sega didn't have a really popular console in Japan until the Saturn. They killed it in arcades though.
>>2911445
I have no idea what this means. Are posts like this really where /vr/ is at these days?
>>2911404
Think of the Pc Engine in the west.
>ITT: ZELDA VS
Everyday there are threads spamming of people giving their subjective opinion to which Zelda game is the best one, it's fun to read what some opinions are but wouldn't it be nice to try to objectivly try to figure out which one comes close to being the top pick? I know this is not going to be perfect, but I was thinking since you guys have good backgroundknowledge of most of the games we could work together and make a list of the strengths and weaknesses of each game.
Since this is /vr/ the disccussion should...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I'll start with number of Dungeons:
>LOZ:9(+9)
>TAoL: 7
>ALttP:13
>LA:10 (+1 in DX)
>OoT: 12
>MM: 8
>OoA: 11
>OoS: 11
So, this is a tricky one; if you consider the second quest of LoZ to be additional dungeons it wins (18), followed by ALttP (13) and OoT (12)
So this round would go to LoZ

What do you think is over that horizon? Also why do the mountains look like graphical glitches?
Sonic backgrounds and 16 bit cityscapes are great for some reason.
>>2911210
You're near the outskirts of Palm Desert, a suburb of Sandopolis. Didn't you know?
>>2911210
That dithering would look so much better blended on a CRT as intended.
You could switch between three characters. One was a woman in a skimpy green dress the second was a large muscular man and the third was a woman with a yellow skirt over a suit.
It took place a a sci-fi setting and one of the characters was named zach.
Alien Storm?
You're welcomed.
