well, I think FF always used the same font in Japan. But I agree, the old US logo did look pretty cool. I really like the US Final Fantasy I box art.

What does /vr/ think of this platformer? Did you enjoy it more or less than its sequel?

Game play is solid. Pretty good.
Grapihcs are pretty good.
Characters are cute. But they can get a little annoying.The fucking story is too sad far that game. Why would you do that

If such a screen existed, it'd be pretty easy, once you've taken the gameboy apart, you'd just need to desolder the one connector.

If you want to see your game boy on an OLED, that's fine, but the image will be about 0.5cm x 0.5cm.

Hey /vr/ wondering if any of you can help. I got my Saturn out of storage recently and the internal battery seems to be dead. Every time I turn it on I get this screen.
I thought it was fine at first because I tried saving a game and resetting and it was still there. But this morning I went to play again and the save disappeared. Any help? Is the only fix to replace the battery? And are they even available?
Christ almighty the people that visit this board. The battery is a basic CR2032 that can be bought anywhere batteries are sold. The battery is located in a small pull-out tray on the back of the console. Please use Google before bumping a perfectly valid thread off the board next time.

Yes and on. You can change the battery, but if you're too bothered with that, there is a solution for games which only support internal battery saving (versus memory card).
As you experienced for yourself, the saves will still be there if you reset, rather than turn off the console. So you can save the game on internal battery, reset, copy the save to a memory card/gameshark, and turn off the console. Then, when turning on, copy...

A friend challenged me in Top Gear.
He always picks the red car with manual transmission, what car should i pick?
It seems that the white has the best handling and very low fuel consumption but it is the slowest and i'm afraid he will just zoom past me in most tracks, are purple or blue decent choices?

Red car have shitty acceleration and too much fuel consumption, the idea is that this car would be the best if piloted by an expert player due to the higher max speed, but the developers failed.
There isn't a way to perfectly play Top Gear because of the limited view, the red car is the worst, it only works in shallow theory.
For those of you who have a lot of loose carts, how do you store your manuals?
I'm in the processing of organizing my games better (just added end-labels to all my n64 carts) and want to be able to access all my manuals as quickly and easily as possible. I was thinking of using binder inserts, but it seems like SNES/N64 manuals are too big for that to be practical.

I'd imagine most people who have loose carts don't also have manuals.
Theres probably no really good way to store them. They aren't thick enough to have end labels.
You could look into bitboxes or whatever, I know UGC don't have tabs for manuals, but I think bitboxes from stoneagegamer might. I would advise against boxing everything because honestly it takes up a huge amount of space and becomes a pain in the ass when you get new games becuase you now need to get boxes for those.

Yeah, I used to plan on getting custom cases for all games that came from cardboard boxes but ultimately decided having loose carts made more sense. I don't need to show off my collection on a shelf; I just want all my games and manuals to be easily accessible.

Binders, bitboxes, or just a cardboard box with little tabs to alphabetize are all pretty decent options. First two are the best looking, third is most functional.
Which do you prefer?

I like them both and don't even remember which I played first because I was so young. Too hard to pick one.
I prefer SMW but SMB3 is one of the greatest games ever.
