How come SEGA couldn't make a single good Jurassic Park game?
>>3341036
I always preferred the Sega games. I guess maybe I was too dumb for the snes versions or something, but I found them tedious and confusing
>>3341041
>I always preferred the Sega games
So you prefer badly designed stages and slippery platforming?
Seriously that opening stage in Rampage Edition is a fucking NIGHTMARE to navigate

Top keks. Got me to reply.
Sega CD game is garbage though, that's legit.
Anyone been to a barcade? I went to one that opened recently when visiting my hometown. I thought it was a lot of fun, getting trashed on cheap beer and playing X-Men Arcade with three friends and a random guy is a blast.
I'm probably going to buy a copy of Joust for one of my consoles (and maybe an arcade stick) to fulfill the new addiction gained from playing it with a bud.
My only issue was that there was only one CRT with consoles attached, so despite having quite a few food consoles and games attached to it the thing was on constant Smash 64 duty.
*a few good consoles
ya went to one in manhattan last month
was fun getting shitty playing outrun, puzzle bobble, moonwalker, etc. i was already pretty lit when i got there.
>>3341018
I'll probably get crucified for this, but I'd never seen an Outrun cabinet before I went. It had rumble when going off-road, pretty cool.
My buddy and I got into a pretty serious rivalry playing Asteroid, too.
>"Dude instead of a battery back up save that keeps your world progress and all your items, let's just force the players to find warp whistles instead."
ITT: Times when game companies put on their yamaka hats
get good
>Needing more than one session to beat a Mario game
Git gud, Faggot.
The snes jurassic park (ocean one) doesn't have a save feature either and is a pretty long game. Kinda ruins it
My 7yo nephew only has access to really easy games with no real challenge while at home, and when he comes here to play whatever I have (which he says are his favorites), he just gets disinterested or upset since there's actually a level of difficulty involved, and he's god awful at games because he doesn't get enough experience with real ones. How do I save him?
He's a fan of platformers or anything Nintendo, really. In fact, I think SMB1 is the only game he'll keep attempting, but he never incorporates running.
>>3340792
So the games he says are his favorites are the ones he gets disinterested in? What??
>>3340804
Yeah, it's really weird. He'll beg me to play Pokemon, so I put it on, but he'll want to turn it off 10 minutes in because he doesn't like to battle (which is the largest component of the game).
He actually does like Star Fox 64 as well, but he gets discouraged and won't want to play the second level since he has difficulty with it.
>>3340807
He sounds like a 7 year old to me... Maybe just let him try what he wants and when he doesn't like them just do something else with him.
is bust-a-move/puzzle bobble the best arcade puzzler series ever? i believe it is
>>3340631
It's good but both Pyuo Pyuo and Panel De Pon have much higher skill ceilings which leads to more fun in the end.
>>3340631
Yeah it's so great there's a million clones of it on Facebook. And my mom plays every single one of them.
I personally love Tetris and Columns more.
>>3340646
columns is the shit
Hello friends. Can you suggest me some retro videogame fitting to the season? I already have Cool Spot on my list but I really need more estival feel.
Duke Nukem Caribbean: Life's a Beach
It's an episode for Duke Nukem 3D, featuring some very good levels (some of the best official levels probably), and some fun and cool vacation stylings.
The weapons are waterguns and coconut bombs, the enemies are dressed up in aloha shirts and sunglasses, when you kick you can see Duke is wearing sandals.
What's the best way to play Chrono Trigger currently?
SNES, PSX, NDS, Android... I don't care which just as long as it's the most definitive version with the most content/best translation etc.
I have the PSX version, which is pretty great save for some load times. If load times piss you off, I'd probably go SNES/Android/iOS/emulation.
>>3338946
NDS
>best translation
No translation is best translation.
Does anyone else think it was the best in the series? the open world exploration, inability to die and treasure collecting all really lent themselves to it becoming one of my favorite games of all time. sure, it has a couple of weak points, but I think it's the strongest Wario game and it's always the first that comes to mind when he's mentioned. I'm still holding out for another sequel in its style.
>>3338819
No.
4>1>2>3

what weak points?
2 > 3 > 1 > 4 btw.

What is the correct way to pronounce SEGA?
"Sugar"
"Sieg heil".
>>3338135
"Segg-Ay"
What did this company actually innovate? Anything?
Not trolling, I'm genuinely curious. I want to know what they innovated because I can't really think of anything.
>>3337834
They invented true 3D gaming with Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64.
>>3337834
First commercially successful D-pad.

Haven't seen a "Can't remember the game" thread in the catalog, but I had this memory pop up from nowhere yesterday.
The game was probably a dos/win95/win98 children's game. What I remember from it is a grey wall that you had to click the bricks, and if you did something (wrong?) then a dragon head would pop up. Pic related is my shitty drawing of it. I remembered it with graphics as good as the prehistoric games, but I'm not sure. The color set was bright and childish. Another thing, but I could be very wrong here, is that maybe you had...

Thanks Anon, I was getting my hopes really down someone could help.
>>3337826
Was that English game?
>>3341516
I think so, but I'm not sure. I'm from Hungary, but not many software had Hungarian translations back in the day.
what awesome armies are you commanding anons?
I've been playing fantasy general, bretty gud.
Been playing some OpenRA, look into it if you're a fan of the classic Westwood RTS's.
Why is turn based so much better than rts
>>3338625
Rewards quality of decision making instead of speed of execution.
Is this game actually good? Or is it good for a final fantasy game. Also, what are the must play retro rpgs
Dragon Quest III is the quintessential retro RPG.
>>3337071
Hmm I wonder what cartoon was popular when they released this game
>>3337086
Dr. Slump
Itt games you loved as a kid that you'd never play again as an adult because they stopped appealing to you or you grew out of them
So why the Zelda spam, my amigo?
Why the hell does this happen?
I played the FUCK out of super mario world, back in my childhood and my teens, but now it does nothing to me. I have nothing against it at all, it just seems boring now.
ITT, /vr/ games that only you played, or weren't very known.
Pic related, it's Curse of Enchantia,
I loved Curse of Enchantia, played it several times as a kid.
It's also one of the few, if not the only, point and click adventure game with no text whatsoever, everything in the game is transmitted through symbols.
>>3335990
Yup, it has merit to not have any text during the whole game. However many things were illogical as fuck.
>>3335997
>Adventure game
