Why is OpenTTD dying?
Over the course of 6 years i noticed slow decreas ein the amount of people playing this game.
Less and less public servers, mostly empty now.
Is this precious gem slowly subsiding into the abyss?
It's hard for me to believe that only like 60 people on earth play at the same time.
I wonder how many of the players actually died

I play offline yet

That's sad, and pretty big thing when considering retro games, fanbase just, goes away...
Your opinion on JJ Squawkers
Well, I had no opinion on JJ Squakers. But now after just playing it, its pretty fucking rad.
A bit on the retarded hard side though, or maybe I'm just bad.
Easily one of the weirder arcade games
Yo what the shit is that? Will report back once I come off the mushrooms I was apparently administered unaware.
It's cool. You might also enjoy this one.

Times when /vr/ lied to you.
Tried this little "gem" for the first time the other day. You guys are so full of shit. You said Croc was good. Its not. More like Croc of shit
>>3088073
You just don't like it, and /vr/ isn't one person or a general consensus. At least you gave it a try
>>3088073
This was one of the games I got with my Playstation when I was a kid. I remember liking it back then, but that was probably because it was the first 3D platformer I ever played. After going back and playing it again recently, I can agree that it is not a good game. Whoever reccomended it to you probably doesn't have the ability to seperate their nostalgia from their objective judgement (pretty common around here). There's no reason to be playing this when you could be playing Spyro or Crash or Ape Escape.
>>3088073
>You guys are so full of shit
Someone finally gets it. When the evaluated material is so heavy on nostalgia, you can't just trust what people talk about it, you ought to try it before and take your own conclusions.
(Personally I think Croc is OK. Not any masterpiece but a way better than most of the shit we got in that generation. But then again, who am I to say? Better play it for yourself before listening to a random jackass on an anonymous board.)
There are some reports that this mod actually has a virus in it but might just be a false positive. Unfortunately it looks like it's the only way to play Goldeneye at 60fps. Anybody have any experience with it?

>Unfortunately it looks like it's the only way to play Goldeneye at 60fps
There's word that if a patch can be developed to disable all of the anti-aliasing system calls in a Goldeneye ROM it *might* be possible to play the game 60fps on the real console.
>>3082872
Would that be a rom patch or could it be done on something like an action replay?
>>3082864
>kbm
So long as you know that's cheating we're good :^]. Goldeneye's design and difficulty was made for analog controls. Kbm pretty much breaks the game because it makes it far too easy and redundant.
Played any games for the Game Boys recently, /vr/?
The Killer Instinct port. Was shit.

2 is still the best
Been on a Dr. Mario kick. I feel the GB version is the best version of that game because it has truly random pill rotation, where as the NES and n64 versions love to give you the red-yellow pill seven times in a row.
just sold my rule of rose
NES,SNES,GG,GBC,PS1,N64 owned.
>>3096390
What genres are you interested in? How much are you looking to spend per game?
>>3096405
I would blow it all on on a few good titles. I got Ror for $7.50 years ago. Platformers, co-op, sim and rpgs
already own all
us final fantasy
legend of dragoon
earthbound
alladin
chrono trigger/cross
all dks
all mario
mario rpg

Wait, Rule of Rose goes for 200 bucks now ?! I got it for 30€ 5 years ago.
Not that I'd want to sell it, but it's good to know.
Look for our ports on Kickstarter soon

Guys, we needed this thread. Here it is.
Why is there no english translated uncensored snes romhack for FFIV? Or just a snes romhack with the 1:1 the gba script + uncensored stuff?
There's AT LEAST two of them.

>>Why is there no english translated uncensored snes romhack for FFIV?
Oh, it's a 'pretend it's 1997' thread?
>>3095781
But they are both rather average. Ay?
Any arcade collectors or fans here? I'd like to get into the Sega Naomi platform among others when I get the money.
Also, post pickups/home arcades/setups/whatever
I own 5 cabs but they're kind of strung around right now, though all of them work except the one I'm planning to do a MAME conversion on.
I always think it would be cool to learn how to fix and restore old arcade cabinets but I am sure it is more complex than I think.
NAOMI is great, first arcade board I picked up back at the end of '14. I now have 14 boards, what a fun rabbit hole it's been.
Okay /vr I need some help. I bought a 65inch 4K tv a few months ago and because I was right about to move, had all my retro stuff in storage. Now that I'm at my new place, I went to set it all up only to find out that my systems can't be recognized by the tv.
Any kind of workaround for this so I can get back to gaming with my retro stuff on this tv?
>4k
I miss when 4chan wasn't full of normies.
You might need an upscaler.

Road Rash II Mega Drive is the best IMO
Road Rash 64 doesn't have the best graphics but it's the most fun to play

I played the DOS version when I was a kid. Haven't played it in years though. Gonna get the PlayStation version so I can play this game once again.
Sonic Adventure is better on the Dreamcast.
This is the only conclusion I can come up with as to why everyone hates SA but not SA2.
SA2 has all the same flaws as SA. However, perhaps my view is distorted because I only play the Dreamcast version rather than any other version that followed.
Can someone vouch for this? I imagine the majority of people who hate SA, played SA2 first and then went back to the first game on a non-Sega system.
This was also apparent with Super Mario Galaxy. I know plenty of people who can't get into Super Mario...

There isn't all that many differences between versions.

Also, pretty sure a lot of people just hate 3D sanic in general.

>This is the only conclusion I can come up with as to why everyone hates SA but not SA2.
SA1 has Big the Cat as a mandatory story, and doesn't tell you where to go you have to run around on the overworld for fucking ages.
SA2 is more straightforward and action packed. It's biggest problems are the Knuckles levels being too big of a pace breakers, and that the story makes nonsensical jumps all the time.
Both of them suck due to the godawful controls, camera,...

The post.
Can anyone tell me the major noticeable differences between Glover on the ps1 and the n64?
One's on a cartridge that comes in a cardboard box, the other a disc in a plastic case.
>>3093117
LOL! Because he wanted like gameplay differences, but you said PHYSICAL differences!
HAHAHA! That's funny!
He wanted one thing, but you said another!
HA! You must be 'the funny one' in your group, huh? I bet you post funny comments on facebook too, don't you? Like someone will post a status and you'll post something 'funny'? And they'll say 'LOL' but they secretly don't like you.
God, you are hilarious, man!
I'm serious, but have you ever thought...

A lot of the music got butchered on the PS1, surprisingly.
Would it be possible to mod a Super Game Boy and turn it into a Super Game Boy Color?
>>3092067
No.
>Faster CPU with some additional instructions
>Expanded color pallete
>Different BIOS ROM
>>3092067
Just get a gamecube. Best reason to own one.
