Are the Doom games worth playing WITHOUT mods?

Of course they are, and learning curve isn't all that steep
>>
I played Doom and am playing Doom 2 without mods. Yeah I'm having no issues.
>>
I like the ps1 port because of ambient music alone. That plus dpad controls and darker lighting changes the atmosphere to that of a survival horror.

Other than that not really, modding is the only thing keeping doom alive.

Saturn controllers have a "plus-sign" shaped piece of nylon inside the controller under the D-pad. The pad is raised above this and that's what gives the pad the "rocker" feel as opposed to the mushy feel of a Nintendo 64 or PlayStation controller.

What if you cut a plus shaped piece of nylon and put it under the Dpad of another system's controller? Will it be improved?

Both Nintendo and Sega dpads use a single pivot design.
>>
>>3097780
Single pivot? Are there any other designs?
Please tell us all the different types of Dpad construction.
>>
>>3097830
Think just about every big name controller uses a single pivot dpad. How retarded they get about making it is what sets them apart.

Excluding the steam controller.

2 MB,
I picked up a DOS CD-ROM full of 25 classic games at a thrift store for $2, I'm trying to run it in DOSBox but I can't get further than the DIR command. When I type in DIR I get the "." And ".." directories but nothing else. I know there should be a directory that would allow me to run the game. And yes, I have the correct drive mounted.

Pic related, the instruction manual.

Why is fog OK when the PS1 does it, but when the N64 does it, it's Hitler?

Because we focus on other things we hate about the PS1, like the jaggies and the parkinson

I have heard people on here say that the PS1 doesn't having a fogging or pop-up problem (while the N64 does).

What games have those people been playing? JRPGs with 2D backgrounds???

Some nerds on assemblergames figured out some GameShark codes for disabling the ``Anti-aliasing'' (ie. vaseline filter) on N64 games.

What interesting is that despite being software switchable and having a significant performance impact with questionable result, it's still enabled for most, if not all commercial games. Guess Nintendo forced developers to leave it on.

It is established that the fifth gen goes PS>SS>N64>3DO>Jaguar?PC-FX>Pippin.

Which is better:

A bunch of primitive 2/5 star at best games or the same number of visual novel pedophiliac non-games and a couple good shmups and platformers?

Low poly flat shaded 3D or no 3D at all?

Are the PC-FX and JagCD region and copy free?

Does the PC-FX have a homebrew scene like the Jag?
