God, I remember that game being expensive back when I wanted it for some reason in 2002 or so. Looks like it still is, though I'm not seeing any sold ebay listings, just high asking prices.

What is this ero game?
Reminder to replace batteries and capacitors /vr/.
Always use high quality batteries and caps. The no name china ones on ebay are just begging to fail.
Contacts only need a bit of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and some rubbing with a qtip. Please do not sand contacts or use other abrasives . Use a bit of common sense.
Be safe when working on electronics. Happy gaming.
Cart with battery and capacitor replaced.
First revision OoT for anyone interested.
Its no longer original
Might as well throw it out

Why do game developers drop supporting old consoles?
I understand if there are features really resource demanding, but sometimes I just don't understand. I always felt like SNES and Genesis are the pinnacles of 2D gaming (NeoGeo is something incredible), and further platforms don't make 2D any better - it can't be much better than SNES and Genesis were.
What am I thinking wrong?
Simple answer, market.
>>3105029
It's this. If you had a company, would you really want to compete with yourself? Why spend resources developing for your older things when everyone has "the latest and greatest" current thing.
Supporting older consoles would just be a money pit.
It's not just developers, but the console producer itself would still have to be behind it. Like if Nintendo were to start up making Super NES games again, they would have to reproduce dev kits, get the factories to start making SNES motherboards and all the chips & bits for them too, not to mention make new moldings for the plastic cases. and so on. Even though it's an old system, the costs of starting up such a project would essentially be like making a whole new system. With that in mind, just work on an actual new system.

Retroarch can not detect compatible, correctly placed schp bios.
I have been tirelessly frustrated for 3 months by this shit emulator which also happens to be the only emu that works at all on android. 80 hours to get it adjusted for one ps1 game, blown out of the water by the revelation that I just need to use schp1001. OK, now I can't get retroarch to even recognize that the file exists and sure as hell can't select it as the bios.
Yes it's unpacked. Yes I know what i'm doing. No it can't detect any file, let alone those with appropriate...

Are you retarded? There's so many free emulators on the app store for NES/SNES/GEN/PS1 and I think even PS1 that work well.
It's almost that time of year folks. Are you going yard saling this year? Are you ready to spend 6 hours and 3 gallons of gas to buy a single game you got 50% ebay price?
I don't even know if I'll bother anymore. I've gone every year for the last 5 years but this area is so dry it's painful.
>>3104753
I usually go every Saturday for a couple hours or more. Live in FL so sales year round. I do find some great stuff but there are so many damn resellers now a days. Sometimes I go weeks without finding anything good. If you are consistent and lucky you will get stuff.
i'll probably check out a few
>It's almost that time of year folks. Are you going yard saling this year?
It been that time of the year for over month.
You and every other bandwagon "Flea Market Flip" cunt ruined it.
If the bluetooth adapter for the SFC/SNES actually comes out (like they've been promising for close to a year now), would you be willing to swap the corded originals for these?
As an owner of one for general use, I have to admit it's comfy as fuck.
How do you feel about integrating newer technologies into older game consoles in general? (Like having an RGB-HDMI for the Dreamcast, as another example).
It has been demoed, by the way:

No the lag would be too big for these type of games.
>>3104742
The latency seems nil in the demo video. Then again, he's right next to the machine.
Have been trying to download diablo 1 iso for the past few hours, takes almost an hour to download then finishes too early. So when I go to extract it is is incomplete..using chrome ( mac ).
This is my first time using psx emulator, well atleast trying to, the iso is all that's required right?
Why in the unholy fuck are you trying to emulate a PSX port of a PC game on an emulator? (Presumably on a PC)
Anyways, occasionally PSX games come in .ecm files, which is a type of compression. So you need a program to unecm them. Google it.
Besides that, I dunno about other emulators, but on Mednafen you need a .cue file to run the game. Usually they come with the game, and if they don't, you can also google how to make them. It's piss easy.
>>3104671
Not OP. Well, the PSX version at least have some positive aspects. Like fully synchronized Voice for other languages.
>>3104696
What's positive about that? I was glad the game didn't have a localization.
ITT Console games that are objectively better in PAL
Why would region have anything to do with the quality of a game? Particularly PAL compared to NTSC North America where differences were minimal when compared to NTSC Japan?
It leads me to believe this is just a Yuro vs USA shitpost thread.
>50hz
>objectively better

He's being a little punk because this Special Edition reissue expansion pack was only released in Europe. Regardless, this version changes the way ships handle so it's literally subjective whether SE is better than WO3.
can we have a phantasy star 1 thread?
Talk about memories, what you loved about the game, etc
>>3104492
What's the bump limit on this board? It's probably about time to jump ship to a new thread anyway.

PS1 has the best monsters.
How is the PS2 remake?
Why does Japan get all the cool shit? Collectors editions out the wazoo. Post retro goodies you own or want. Posters, Plushes, Figures, Keychains, T-shirts, etc.

What are some games that have pushed their hardware to its limits?
Do games that have on-board hardware count?
Because I guarantee every NES game that will appear in this thread will be assisted by an MMC chip.
>>3103103
Does pic related count? The cart did do the heavy lifting though.
>>3103103
did DKC really push the hardware or just the programming and resources of the devoloper. iirc all the 3d was pre-rendered in that game and it plays smooth with no slow down. my copy of u.n. squadron will slow down the snes considerably though.

best wrassling game ever
What's a game that has fantastic gameplay despite its shit tier graphics?
define shit tier.
are we talking about 3d games only?
I don't think it's fair to count 2d games as shit tier.
>>3102969
Most likely 3D, since retro 3D titles are bad in appearance. There are some putrid 2d games though.
>>3102969
im referring to graphics compared to games that came out to its time. So any era is welcome
I was considering an Intellivision recently. I was online and saw that Intellivision 2 was cheaper, but then read that they put some half-assed scheme into the console so that it purposely couldn't read games made by Coleco, as well as a few other games caught in the cross-fire.
Is it still possible to play those games somehow, or is it just not worth it and better to go for an original intellivision?
As an owner of the original console I can honestly say, don't bother. Going back and playing those games on the PS1 was kinda painful and soured me on the idea of ever trying to get it again.
But if you do, make sure to get the voice pack.

>>3103032
Nooooooo...the INTV is a great classic console, with classics like Discs of Tron and an emulation on the PS1 can't replicate the experience of a real INTV with it's weird controllers and woodgrain style.
>>3103032
I have played with the voice unit once upon a time (BOMB SQUAAAD).
I like my 2600 so I don't see why I wouldn't like an INTV, plus the RPGs sound boss. The most that I remember reading is you really want the inserts as well as the manuals.
