I have a psp go for that exact purpose, and it is fuckin nice to just pick up and play some PS1/gameboy games. I really enjoy it, I got it a year and a half ago for like 50 bucks though.

Are rom files getting modified / altered in any way while playing, putting it in a sd card, an emulator, ... anything? I'm asking because my toaster doesn't have much disk space so I'd like to know whether I should keep the .rar of rom files I download or not.

My sonic 3 cart no longer saves games. I read that you could request a free sample of basically the "modern" version of the 1994 chip from the same company that made them then. The issue is that it's longer than the old one and does not fit.
Can I rig up a new save RAM or should I just shell out for a new sonic 3 cart?
Sockets? Maybe try to mount it to the backside. May be a bitch trying to solder that though. Trying to connect wires to the legs would probably be a bad idea. Don't think there's much room in Genesis cart anyway for mounting the chip somewhere else.
I genuinely got a laugh out of hearing about the pranks the mortal kombat guys pulled back in the day, Rain is honestly my favorite because they made an entire character with ai to only appear in the arcade version's attract mode. Just to make people frantically search for ways to unlock him.

My uncle really DID work for Nintendo back in the day. He worked at a help hotline and used to give me free hints for NES games whenever we'd meet up at Christmastime. He's the reason I was able to get past the Dam in TMNT.

Any ntsc-u racers with the depth of gt2 out there? Doesn't have to be licensed cars or even cars. Has to have upgrades/adjustments and sim-like physics.

dumb newfag would like to know what /vr/ thinks is better. I am halfway through re1 and having a good time and never played sh1 but i herd that sh has a better story. What do you guys think?
No it is not. They are both survival horror games with similar gameplay styles. They even have similar cinematic camera angles. One is just static while the other moves.
It's really tough for me to say OP. SH1 is without a doubt way scarier. It has the scariest music in the series. RE1 is so iconic. Pretty much popularized the genre. Anyone ever find a guide that covers some of the specifics of the Metal Slug series? (or any of the main four games).
Weapon damage would be a good example of what i am talking about. Can't seem to find much information about this. I have always wanted to know if all enemies take the same level of damage or if some have more/less armor towards bullets vs explosives (doubt this happens but sometimes i wonder) Also trying to find out if there is a "cap" on the amount of damage an enemy can take at once.
