Easy NES games? I'm tired of feeling like a girl because I can't beat any
101 replies and 15 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
Mario 1 isn't too bad. Zelda isn't either. I even beat both of those games today just because I came home and had the chance to play some NES.

I think Metroid has a good balance of difficulty.

I'm working on Ghosts n Goblins right now. It's not really that hard, but people say it is.

Dragon Warrior, from my memory isn't too bad.

I might also say contra with the Konami code isn't all that hard.

Kirby's Adventure
Chip & Dale Rescue Ranger
Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu
Willow
Puss n' Boots
Tiny Toon Adventures (up to a point)
Mega Man 3 with the "hold down in controller 2" cheat.

Let's have a comfy thread about Nintendo 64 emulation and why it is so shit.
Which emulators you using?
you wouldn't use ProjectMalware, would you?
What ROMS you playing?
Tell us about what problems you're encountering and help each others.

Pic related trying to make Paper Mario works, but regardless of what I do I still encounter the flickering problem in the menu. 1964 won't start at all for unknown reasons so can't use that one.
Has anyone found how to "perfect" emulate it yet? Really wanna replay that gem...

Doesn't it run well if you emulate it through Dolphin via VC?
>>
Emulator using: Project64 2.2 (I call bullshit on malware)
ROMS playing: Jet Force Gemini (framerate issues), Rush 2 (graphical issues), Wipeout 64 (way too fast).

Solution: Use different plugins or previous emulators, fuck round with the settings, etc.

Into the garbage with this thread. Just talk about games and consoles, emulation is illegal for one, and a tool of the poor for another.

Do a barrel roll
>>
SHOOT AT EVERYTHING.
Sometimes when they shoot at you, do barrel rolls.
Apart from that, shoot at everything. Never not shoot.
Also, I was just thinking of making a Star Fox 64 thread, because yesterday I played it for the first time in 15 years.
I even got a new highscore. 1075. It is a lot for me, since the highest I have gotten before that was 862.
Also, I felt stupid when I realized you could get out of Andross' brain tentacles with the turbo. Was near death by then, though and on my next try I beat him with almost no shield lost.

Are the pc ports superior or inferior to the ps1 version?

I've never played the PC ports. The PSone version is superior.
>>
>>3147764
After you mod it, yes.
>>
they have their pros and their cons, their biggest pro i think are the quicker loading times. every black transition screen is like 90% faster, this includes doors and random encounters and shit. makes the game feel a lot faster than the ps1 version.

the biggest con imo is how shitty the low res pre-rendered backgrounds look on high res monitors, but i can look past that.

I enjoy 99% of games I play on some level and think all the "this game sucks" "no this game sucks more" conversations are repetitive and boring. I wish people could just enjoy games for their good parts rather than get so stuck on the bad ones.

Why would you do that?
>>
>>3143482

Faster frame rate, and no frame rate dropping.
>>
>>3143495
I thought ePSXe already automatically forced no frame drops where frame drops would actually be accurate to the console. Someone was going on about how PCSX-R simulated framedrops accurately while ePSXe just made everything run well.

Do you consider the Nintendo 64 more like the Super Nintendo, or more like the GameCube?

It's not like either?
Just like NES and SNES aren't like each other. Both look drastically different and have drastically different capabilities.

I think it's pretty clearly a weaker GameCube.

It's nothing like the SNES. The SNES had good games.

Hell, even the GC had more good games than the fucking N64.

When I was asked to choose from the three starting pokemon and I didn't want any of them.

So probably gen 3.
>>
I still play, I'm waiting on Sun and Moon news revealed today.

Black and White is still the best games in the series to me. Very similar to Red and Blue. Forcing you to use new Pokemon.
>>
Right around OR/AS. I have AS, but I just couldn't bring myself to play it. I will at some poibt, but I just really find 3D Pokemon to look unappealing.

When I first heard about Pokemon as a kid I wasn't too interested, but as the launch of Red/Blue approached I got pretty hyped. I even wound up getting a JP copy of Gold before it was released in the US and have played at least one main series game per generation ever since.

Hey i remember a similar one, but it was an arcade from a BIG SIZED FLAT SCREEN arcade, NO LCD but rear projection.

i am trying to find a pic of a similar cabinet, but the one i am talking about, was on a Giant screen that was flat

this is the closest i found on the internet, but the one i am taking about, had the joysticks cabinet similar to the one on >>3144521

but the screen from the pic i uploaded, but bigger.

So, for anyone familiar with the old Final Fantasy 4 multiplayer game called Final Fantasy Remnants will know that it was shutdown sometime last year sadly after an argument between admin and one of the coders.

Well I'm glad to say that a new Final Fantasy 4 multiplayer has reared its head in the form of Final Fantasy Rebirth. As always it is on the Byond client so you'll need that and an account.
https://secure.byond.com/download/

Once that is downloaded and installed just paste

Oh yeah, totally. Its essentially FF4 but with a slightly gutted story for multiplayer. great fun to team up and challenge Zeromus or Gogo.

Last night we had a party fighting gogo, it was a great fight up until he copied someone's Libra spell and locked the fight up >_>
>>
>>3136348
additionally the dev is adding new content fairly regularly and does take player feedback into consideration.

Such as last night he added a Chemist class and Gunner class.

There is a bonus dungeon called the Shrine which houses several bosses which are insanely challenging and are not for the faint of heart.

This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!

>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.

Okay, so since N64 apparently counts as "retro" and /v/ is a shit place where good thread just go down the shitter immediately, I thought we could have a nice, cozy Star Wars Racer thread around here.
