Is Doom on gba a decent port to get some portable doom action?
Why did sega abandon all their IPs for sonic? I mean I understand sonic was supposed to be their juggernaut like Mario was, and I could be talking out of my ass here, but for example when zelda, kirby, or pokemon got big nintendo didn't give up on mario and their other IPs so whyd did sega? also pic related

Probably a combination of multiple devs leaving, lost of funds, and lack of a playerbase/interest.
Pretty much no modern gamer can name more than 5 SEGA IPs. More than 10 definitely not.

I don't know where else to go, and my options are running out fast. About 72 hours ago, my car stolen, and everything I own was in it. Clothes, video games, my desktop pc, trophies, everything. Stage isn't that bad, because you get unlimited tries on that very spot. The game never makes you restart the whole stage over.
Tough stages that make you backtrack are the most frustrating.

SNES one isn't bad, it's just a tad generic and suffers from not having actual Disney animators helping with the sprites.

Is there a preferred version of the PS1 to have? I've heard that there are notable differences in old and new models. For example, better sound quality on old models with RCA outputs.
Sound quality is the same on all models. Early models are prone to skipping. That's it.
