You're trying to confuse people on purpose by using a numbering scheme that nobody bloody uses, aren't you? I was able to decipher your shit but how about you just use the actual titles next time.
Wonder Boy in Monster World is the best.
>>3220971
Agreed, Monster World is the most polished, with pleasantly drawn, colorful graphics and comfy music. Dragons Trap is good, but it's a little rough compared to Monster World.

>tfw there will never be a Monster World V
The 32X addon expanded the Mega Drive's capabilities in 4 ways:
Increased the color depth to 32768 from 61.
2 new CPUs inside which did software 3D much faster than the Mega Drive CPU.
The video encoder outputs much cleaner composite (presumably RF too) than the Mega Drive.
2 additional audio channels for a total of 8 (16 with Sega CD).
Was there anything else?
I don't have a 32X.
How does it sound compared to the stock Mega Drive?
What are the best and worst sounding games that used the extra channels?
What is the signature sound...

Adding in the extra audio channels didn't change the Genesis' sound, besides adding in more wiggle room to have the drums be PSG samples.
If your expecting something dramatically different from the stock Genesis, then your not getting it here.
That said, Cosmic Carnage, Tempo and Knuckles Chaotix are probably the best sounding games on the system.

So Myst is wrecking my shit. I just started. Walked around the island touched something and now there is only a house in the middle of an ocean. I'm so fucked. (pretty fun though)
Becareful of the rapist who roams the island, you'll know when you get there.

I've prepared for this moment my entire life.

I just beat the Mechanical age, it was my first. but now I'm back and stumped.
Are you playing the original Myst? I'm on RealMyst ME and it's amazing.
Did controls improve during the 5th gen?
Were controls awful way back in the 2nd gen?
Every gen has games with shitty controls.
Some 2600 games were unresponsive. Just like Amiga, C64, NES, SNES, Genesis, and any other system you can think of.
There is a point where even shitty controls were pretty decent, I think that's between the SNES/N64 era.
>>3220546
When did shit controls become acceptable? QTE games?
>>3220548
Not acceptable, just generally playable. Shit controls are still shit controls. They detract from the overall game, but at least they were somewhat playable.
do you guys have a "best games for each console" image, or website like /v/ does?
I feel like i played every game worth playing already, and im sure i'm wrong since i already have like 8 square RPGs on my schedule, among other things... so.. im all ears

You just have to dig deeper down the rabbits hole.
>>3220494
so that's your polite version of "no spoonfeeding faggot!!"
eh.. this board is too slow for me to stick around but i'll try
>>3220497
It's better slow, once you get used to it, you'll prefer it that way.
I recently spent 16 hours in airports and realized it was time to really think about handheld emulation.
Suggestions on something that will smoothly run NES, SNES, GB kind of stuff? Good battery life, headphones, etc and isn't brick huge?
>>3220364
Softmod a new 3ds and you're set. SNES or older is great, and GBA and GBC emulation is flawless, because the 3ds has actual GBA hardware buried inside it
>>3220364
Not much. At that size you have the dingoos and play. None of which run SNES smoothly in many cases. You either deal with that or get something bigger.
>>3220364
I got the jxd s5800 as was suggested here. So far I've tested the emulators for the systems you mentioned as well as PS1 and NDS, and they all run well. Battery lasts around 8 hours for me.

Draw the most painful boss fight you remember from your childhood in MS Paint and have others guess it. I'll start.

Balrog?
Mike Tyson?
I don't want to get too specific about this, but there's a certain Pre-1983 IP of which the company who made it has since gone bankrupt, and I tried calling all the people who could possibly own this, and either they weren't able to either me towards legal, or said that they didn't own it. I doubt this will work, but anyone know how i can do what id did with Wolfenstein back in 1992 and get the rights to release a sequel today?
>>3220302
Try to meet the guys who made the game themselves, and ask them. I think that's what id did.
Or you can change the name. Wolfenstein 3D is not the same as Castle Wolfenstein, is it?
I think you need to get the advice of a lawyer who knows his way around intellectual rights and licensing.
>>3220302
You find who has the rights and make a deal with them. There is no other way. You can you always just do it and hope no one who has the rights notices but that's risky.
ITT hard games you can beat deathless.

What are some great websites that feature interviews with game developers, especially from retro games, /vr/?

How the fuck do I get good at this? I grew up with consoles so I never played this or other RTSes growing up, but when my friends from college come through they always want to play this or Civ2. I've been able to get decent-ish at Civ2 (my asshole is still wide-open for anyone who does an early game rush), but I'm just helpless in AoEII.
I know it's hard to tell me what I'm doing wrong when you can't see how I play the game but what are some general strategies to use so that I'm not halfway to the castle age when all of a sudden I'm...

Fuck, is this one of those things you can't talk about without people memeing? I used to lurk /vr/ back when it first opened but I haven't been around here in a few years.
>>3220150
Do they always rush?
>>3220175
They'll send around a six unit rush ASAP to disrupt your economy. They're a lot faster about getting their economy up so I'm always struggling to make military units by the time they show up.
It's not an earnest rush, but it is a pain to have to make everyone stop working and ring the bell because I haven't been keeping up with military expansion.
Can we have a thread about great games to play on halloween with friends? im talking about fun horror themed games
Baby Felix Halloween for the GBC is legit.

Sent back to a checkpoint after death and only one credit/continue per run.
Will genesis carts ever reach the insane prices of super nintendo? Or is it kindof a niche market?
Not a whole lot of SNES games worth much to begin with. Mainly garbage games.
>>3219924
Why Genesis carts should reach insane prices when they are still produced and sold?
PG era>pop Genesis era
So /vr/ I would like to get into some Capcom Vs Snk 2. I would like to know which is the best version (I have a Japanese dreamcast version and a PSN version) characters are easy to use for an SF fan and any tips in general
Without a way to play this thing online, I advise against it unless you have awesome friends who are also into fighters.
>>3219889
I assume the PSN version has online play, no?
