What are the reasons for wanting to do the Shadow Temple after the Spirit Temple?
After clearing the Water Temple, the game guides you to the Shadow Temple: Kakariko is on fire, you learn the Nocturne of Shadow, and you are told to get the Lens of Truth in the Bottom of the Well. Not to mention, you need the Lens of Truth to get to the Spirit Temple anyway, and you're already in Kakariko, so why WOULDN'T you do the Shadow Temple first?
Also, the Spirit Temple is way more climactic as a final temple because you go to Ganondorf's hometown, utilize...

I did it because I felt like doing it that way. What are you going to do about it?
Spirit temple is one of the better temples though and a lot of fun to do earlier rather than later

He kinda sounds like Bomberman to me.
Great Adventure
Ebisu
Anyone remember this game? I am not a fagget but so much people don't know about this game yet they say ''Oh i remember the times when i saved the princess in Super Mario Bros!'' ''Oh remember speeding through the level as sonic!'' seriously this is a fucking great game and you should get a ROM for it. Any speedrunning tips?
>>3237861
I prefer Revenge. Super Shinobi II's gameplay made the game too easy and there were too many autoscroll sections.
Uh... yeah, Shonibi is included in many retro game compilations for newer systems, it's on the PS3/360 Genesis collection, it's on Nintendo's virtual consoles, etc. It's one of Sega's most famous franchises, after Sonic and Streets of Rage.

I agree.
Gamings ultimate badboy?

OP: /vr/s ultimate shitposter?
>better graphic than SM64
>better music
>better controls
>better level design
>better difficulty
Why SM64 is more famous exactly?
It was first. They're also not that similar in gameplay.
Just like how Crash Team Racing is a better cart-racer than Mario Kart 64, yet MK64 is more "famous" than CTR. Or how Mario Party is more famous than Crash Bash.
You can clearly see that around this time, Naughty Dog was attempting to copy the Mario "formula" for these games when they made their Crash-based 3D platformer, cart-racer, and party game. Granted, there are differences between the games, and often the Crash-based games had improvements since they came later, but there's no denying that the Mario games were the inspiration behind them....

Nintendrones gonna drone
I almost bought a PS vita because I saw this on PSN, but then I saw that I couldn't actually buy it. Why can't I buy it? Why do video game companies hate consumers so much?

Gearbox is reworking duke to make him more hip with catchphrases such as bazinga in 3d
Hey /vr/,
I'm trying to remember PC games I owned growing up.
My parents frequently shopped at outlet/liquidation/blowout stores, and that meant I'd subsequently pick up cheap computer games for $5 a piece
So instead of making your average nostalgia thread posts, only post things you got for cheap.
I'll kickstart it with the few games I remember.
World War III Black Gold
Robot Arena
Skateboard Park Tycoon
"I'm an old school gook killer boy, but I'd kill me a nigger if I got the chance!"
Holy shit, how the FUCK did they get this line into the game? I know it's based on an R-rated movie and this is before the ESRB, but just..wow.
Okay.
>>3236120
Just kind of shocked an 80's game had such adult lines like this. Plus first time playing through this game (love the movie) so I was taken aback you know?
>>3236123
Shenmue is pretty infamous for this, one of the bosses shouts out "I'll fucking kill you!"
What do you think of this game based on these four screenshots?
High quality
It's total garbage
Looks fantastic. Makes me wish I could read moonrunes.
Is action doom 2 the best wad ever?
my favorite wad is one I found on one of those doom wad cds you'd find in the mall in the mid 90s, it's called homer.wad and replaces the sound effects with simpsons sounds
I prefer vanilla doom... Crispy doom to be specific.. But i really liked the AI of brutal doom when i tried it, not the fancy stuff and modifications, but the IA felt a great challenge somethimes comparing to vanilla doom... Maybe theres a way to play with the new AI and only that from brutal doom... I have to say that i love brutal heretic rpg, im replaying the game with it, lol
>>3235163
It's probably one of the best-looking doom wad at least.
It's done! time ago I purchased the APE SMW guides and disbinded them so I could scan the pages. It's done now. I'll begin work on the second volume as soon as I can.
• The essential color grading and page straightening is done, but I wasn't able to do 3mm bleeds.
• The size of a typical spread is 358.61 × 128.14 mm at 600dpi, the exception pages being the map spread and its backside, the timeline page. They're a bit wider.
• I did a lot of work to remove all the shit and stains the previous owner left to the pages, but if there's...

>Quake
>doesn't actually deal with a quake in any way
>>3234305
It deals with a dimensional quake. It's also the codename for Shub-Niggurath, the final boss.
>>3234307
>It deals with a dimensional quake.
literally meaningless, they could have just called it an invasion incident.
>It's also the codename for Shub-Niggurath, the final boss.
That'd be like if Call of Duty wasn't about a soldier but instead a loose cannon heavily armed action dude and the villain was codenamed "Call of Duty".
>Half-Life
>You start with full life
Hey /vr/, I know this isn't completely retro since it's a new game, but it's on a retro console (the dreamcast) and I know some of you guys will have interest in it.
A rail-shooter called Xenocider is in development for the dreamcast and is on Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/retrosumus/xenocider-a-3d-shooter-for-pc-mac-linux-dreamcast/description It's also going to be on the PC for you master-race gamers. I wanted to share it since I want to see it get funded.
New releases for retro consoles are allowed. Is the DC version the main project or a stretch goal?
>>3232402
The dreamcast is what they keep talking about, so I think so. If it gets its goal and nothing more it's going to be on the Dreamcast, PC, and 3DS.
EVERY. SINGLE. NEW. GAME for dreamcast is a fucking shooter.
lol.
>yo mang whats the least played genre by anyone that isnt a 50 year old galaga loving dweeb
>shooters mang, make another shooter dawg
I just started playing this game. I'm not impressed so far.
it's shit
what a brilliant way to start the thread.
how far in are you? I'd say the game gets better once you get Paula as a party member.
I mean the game is awful.
Underappreciated retro game devs general
