Does anyone remember this old game?
>>3249381
I played the demo and I remember that I liked it, but I was bummed at the time that you couldn't kill the enemies as far as I remember, just knock them out. Overall, seemed fun though.
Combat was godawful but the platforming was surprisingly well done for its age and for being more or less the first game of its kind.
Also, full body awareness in 1997 - holy fuck.
I have yet to get past the first level in this. The whole thing is basically just a test of memorization.
Still good tho
Recommend me a game to emulate on my phone I don't have an external controller or anything. I like RPGs
Visual novels (not retro, but Ace Attorney series and 999 on NDS are perfect for the go)
WarioWare Twisted (MyBoy has gyroscope support)
Advance Wars series
Fire and Ice on NES

SquareEnix titles have good ports.
FF games age good so is chrono.
I'm sure there are more of their titles.
Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger. Turn based stuff.
Choose.

or Super Ghouls N Ghosts
TBQHF
>Ghost N Goblins original is best, original and fun. incomparable to the others as there was no other platformer like it at the time.
>Super Ghouls N Ghosts is 2nd, colorful, quick loads more enemies and great soundtrack
>Ghouls N Ghosts is a close 3rd, raw and fucking awesome

the double jumping ruined super GnG made it too easy
They are all awesome. Never got to play the arcade versions unfortunately. I like the genesis and SNES versions the most overall. I wonder why they changed the name to Ghosts N Goblins for the NES?
anyone have good memories of this game?

i liked splatterhouse 2 when i was 19
still preffer it to splatterhouse 3
i dont like walking up and down (on the vertical axis)
Hell yeah! Saw it in an arcade as a little kid. Blew my mind.
Did the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16 bring about the decline of console expansions? Did the 64DD put the nail in the coffin? Or was it thePS2 HDD? Was the 3DO MPEG module the best one? What about 3rd party units like the NES Aladdin?
It was the HD-DVD drive for the 360.

since this is 4chan, im pretty sure cucks did it.
>>3244650
At least they were mass-produced.

EWJ2 was fun, but the stages had way too many gimmicks for me.
Would you call either of the 3D Lemmings games at least "good for its time"?
There was a 3D Lemmings?
>>3240805
I loved it when I was a kid, so it was good for "my time". I don't know if I'd like it if I went back to it, though.

>"good for its time"
Can this meme stop already?
How was retro gaming in Latin America?
In Mexico, we grew playing Nintendo consoles, we even had a Nintendo TV show:

>How was retro gaming in Latin America?
Piracy.
In Santiago of Chile you can go to paseo las palmas (Not sure if it's called that anymore) and find a shit ton of stores selling chipped ps2, chipped psx and homebrewed wiis. And some Gameboy Advance games as well
Could the retro gaming market be facing a similar situation to the comic market in the 1990s, where speculators have caught wind of how valuable certain cartridges are and are now buying up as many retro game cartridges as possible in hopes of collecting a fat return on them a few years down the road? I used to be able to find great bargains at places like Goodwill but now whenever they have something even remotely good, they always want the eBay price for it, and the ebay prices on retro games have been skyrocketting over the last few years.
Are we facing a future where...

>Could the retro gaming market be facing a similar situation to the comic market in the 1990s,
Yes, and what happened to the prices of all of those comics the speculator market overpriced?
>>3235448
Lots of shelf collectors, or people who just buy the games to have them on their shelf and don't intend on playing them, are just buying them to try to retire off of them in 10-20-30 years.
They've totally ruined a hobby. These games were not worth much and were considered old junk just 5-10 years ago. Now they are insanely valuable.
>>3235448
When something that's not worth the price increases too far, it busts.
It's called a bubble.
What was the hardest star in this game and why was it the Hazy Maze Cave 100 coin star?
>>3231218
It's not hard, just tedious as fuck. Hazy Maze in general is a shitty stage. Mostly due to camera flipping out on you in closed environments.
Shifting sand lands 100 coin star is harder due to instadeath quicksand.
>>3231234
i guess so. but one time i collected the last coin from the maze emergency exit mesh - the only string of coins left in the level - and the star appeared above the mesh completely inaccessible. then i stopped playing for a while.
last time i played through mario 64 the last stars i needed were the tick tock clock 100 stars and something from rainbow ride, i forgot but it was a pain in the ass
>>3231218
>>3231234
I agree that the game has not aged well and is overrated 2bh, but there's no real challenge in the 100-coin stars. Coin max scores is where it's at
Hey, /vr/ what are some good rare Saturn games, or hell, just any good Saturn gems in general?
>pic related because RSG is goat
Princess Crown
>>3253638
BULK SLASH

I'm going to recommend Asuka 120% limitover Burning fest, I never see people talking about it but it's a fantastic fighting game and surprisingly very technical.
What's a better entry point into Might and Magic? 3 or World of Xeen?
cant go wrong with either, my man.
I would go with isles though
>>3253567
Dark Messiah
Okay so I started Might and Magic 3 and I'm trying to figure out how to switch to MT-32 sound instead of soundblaster shit raping my ears. Anyone have any experience with this?
Is there any place online I can read all of the old Nintendo Power issues? I'd love to read them but I don't want to spend a boat load of money on them. Thanks.
EMUparadise has a Magazines/Comics section. A shit ton o' goodies.
>>3253338
They're all CBR files which I hate. Is there any easy way to convert them all into PDF's?
>>3253338

GOD DAMMIT I JUST WANT A REPLACEMENT OF THE FOLDOUT POSTER MY CAT TORE UP
What is the worst that could happen if i solder this chip to my jvc model 2 32 pin sega saturn?
What is it, if I can ask?
I think that will play nice with it if you don't fuck it up.
Just remember to region patch games before playing if you don't have an action replay.
>>3253126
Nothing because it's missing the chip.
hello, sorry if this belongs more in /v/ but I was wondering if there were other games than FFT and to some extent tactics ogre that employed old-timey or verbose english in their dialogue?
I find that the extra effort makes them very engaging but mostly it's just cool.
The translation of FFT for WotL was sickeningly verbose trash. The PSX translations, with all of its Engrish, is superior to "Magicks"
That said, what you're looking for is referred to as "purple prose". Tvtropes has a sample of games that feature it.
