You guys have a buddy that you play and trade games with?
My friend and I often will gift each other with good - terrible games we find. Recently, he gave me a cib ESPN longbox PlayStation game, and solitaire for game gear. I returned the favor with Virtual Bart on SNES. At the same time, gave me Contra and I gave him a nice Saturn controller and fixed a couple games/consoles for him since he is only just learning to solder.

No I am 33 and the only person I have to play retro with is my 3 year old daughter, and she fuckin sucks. my wife will play platformers with me but she doesn't play console games much

>3 year old daughter, and she fuckin sucks
The fuck did you expect?

PlayStation emulator that includes anti-jitter and anti-warping. Now lines are as straight as they should be and models don't distort!

>Now lines are as straight as they should be
But they shouldn't be.
>>3270968
>But they shouldn't be.
It makes the games look less like shit.
This emulator was never for the autists who stop play 3D games in 240p for muh authenticity. It's for people who want the games to look less like shit.

then don't play psx games you fucking rube
Why is it that resellers never price competitively? Why do they all demand absolute top dollar on everything?
Competition in the reselling scene seems to be completely backwards. One will list something for one price, then someone else lists the same thing for even more and the more expensive one gets sold. How the fuck does that work?
>>3270845
People just buy whatever pops up. It seems completely ludicrous, but I've just recently seen F-Zero GX go from 25 to 30 to now 35 and even 40 in a matter of months.
Because buyers are stupid and a lot of resellers take reselling personally/are stupid. New buyers don't know what the fuck they're doing and buy based on hype, fads, investment potential, and what other equally uninformed buyers say and pay. More educated and experienced buyers see rising prices and start to panic and buy at high prices against their better judgment. Resellers are in it for huge profits and won't dishonor themselves by taking a penny less than top dollar. I recently saw an auction end at $99.99 with no bids only for the seller to immediately relist...

Because some sucker will pay. Because some sucker will pay.
Do you like Headhunter, /vr/?
It is not a perfect game by any means, but I admire the effort that was put into it, specially for a DC game.
I feel you. A generation ahead of its time. It fit in more logically on PS2 desu
>>3270258
>It fit in more logically on PS2 desu
Do you mean it feels more like a PS2 game, or are you talking about the PS2 port?
They marketed it as a MGS killer, but it's more like a general rehash of all the big things from back then. I like it, it's a good game, but only because the games it's imitating are great too.
Check this out.

Games you wish you could get into but cant. No matter how much you try.
Not retro but the PS2 Resident Evil clone is much better.
Harvest Moon.
Any incarnation of it. I've heard it's good and it's addictive, etc. I just can't do it.
>>3269942
Just use a walkthrough so you can cruise through it. It's not bad but it's not worth really investing time into either.
I vote for pic-related. It game out in 1997, and could pass for a PS1 2D title in certain areas. It had a beautiful hand-drawn style to the game.
>>3269213
>and could pass for a PS1 2D title
You mean Saturn? PS1 isn't that great at 2D outside of SOTN.
>>3269215
Mega Man 8 and the Mega Man X games on PS1 looked better than most games on the Super Nintendo.
>>3269224
I'd say they look like a SNES game, not necessarily better. Capcom made more impressive SNES stuff before, like Demon's Crest
Stuff that brings up <10 search results and has no download links. Pic related is a good example.

Where did that pic come from? I dont remember seeing any pics last time I looked up that game, granted it was a while ago.
>>3269235
Some thread on GOG, someone who runs a music store took this pic and said they'd sell the game for $4. That was back in 2013, so who knows if they still have it.
>Creatures would were made portable via the VMU
>Creatures would be able to battle each other online
>they had an interface "working quite well" with the controller
>>3268998
Sadly the game itself was shallow and its gimmick, though heavily fleshed out, didn't amount to much.
It would be good on the 3DS or the Wii though
I remember watching a trailer of the game. was so dissapointed to see it got canceled for the dc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1egi11A5-A
As it wasn't released for Dreamcast and Playstation, it's an "almost retro" game. Both versions were over 80% completed before being cancelled.
Lionhead also did unreleased ports for Nintendo DS and Playstation 2 (Black & White Titan, where you would control your creature) and announced a Game Boy Color port.
So I just found out that Twinkle Star Sprites had a Steam release recently. Anyone here given it a go? Is it worth checking out for online multiplayer? I've emulated it and enjoyed it pretty well, but the user reviews are giving mixed messages even on basic things like whether or not it actually emulates properly.
>>3268935
The emulations pretty mediocre but it's functional.
It's worth it if you have someone you can play online with. If not you're better off with normal emulation, unless you're just looking to own it legally.
>like whether or not it actually emulates properly
It's DotEmu, so trust me, it doesn't. If you actually give a shit about online you might like it but these games are far better for local co-op anyway.
Haven't bought the Steam release but apparently the Humble Bundle version of the game is superior. Based on my time with the HB version, that's not a good thing.
Pay your respects to the last great Gaunlet game.

Every arcade game ever.

I'd rather play the new one on PC than the old, one-button mash fests in the arcade.
Box art
Is it even possible to beat this game from beginning to end on hard, without passwords or cheats?
>>3268306
Yeah, it's just batshit hard.
If you play the meta-game yea, but I had enough trouble playing on normal difficulty so screw that.
