root it and install a custom 4.4 or 5.1 rom or whatever. worked on my 4 year old note 1. its a bit laggy though.

I have a shit RAZR that's 3 years old. I periodically dump download files and caches so don't really have any memory problems. Go downloaded fine for me. The app crashes fairly often, more for me than others I'd assume and sometimes gym battles take 5-6 tires to get to work. Either way, I make due, level 14 right now.
