Unaware makes it a staple on stall teams
It's a get-out-of-jail-free card against set-up sweepers
>>26702440
Unaware, plus Scald, Recover, and Earthquake are a big part of it.

Post you predictions on the national dex order for the new gen. How many new Pokemon do you think will be added?
>inb4 more than 10 :^)
>>26702318
I hope there is going to be less than 10, just to know how gamefreak could have fucked this too
And otherwise I hope for at least 80 or 90, it'll be enough and they have idea material
>>26702318
80-100 is a good number.
130 new Pokemon with 25 Megas.
Feels like the amount added with Gen 3, but is closer to Gen 5 amount technically.

Why did GF nerf Dragon and Steel?
They're supposed to be the best offensive and defensive types respectively.
Honestly, I don't really give a shit about Dragon, but why nerf Steel? It's not like it was particularly overpowered or anything, it performed its role well as the ultimate defensive type.
The new(at the time) Fairy type being weak against it isn't a good excuse.
>>26701934
Steel is because of Aegislash
Dragon is because of bestest snek
>>26701983
this, and dragon type was a powerhouse since it got an actual movepool
>>26701934
Steel losing its Dark and Ghost resistances was the trade-off for its resistance to and super-effectiveness against Fairy.
Post pokemon that are your height
I'd do that if I had a deoxys pic

What are some moves that are either not given to enough Pokemon, or are given to all the wrong Pokemon? I'll start.
>Drain Punch
Togekiss, Bellossom, Shroomish, Clefable, Mr. Mime, Slurpluff, and Blissey get it, but Machamp and many fighting Pokemon don't.
Volt Tackle. Luxray would eat Moltres shit to get that move.
Tail Glow.
Vacuum Wave
Although I think its a good thing

that is so dumb looking
>>26700873
i don't mind synchro like in the anime, i'm indifferent to it.
its the bullshit burst heart fusions that bug me, because its a fucking disaster waiting to happen gameplay wise.
Because /vp/ is full of bitter manchildren afraid of change
Does /vp/ like this guy? I mean, I'm not trying to start some EV thread; I just want to know if he has a place in your life.
ITT: pseudo legenday appreciation and discussion
Noivern is one of my favorites. Its not a pseudo legendary though.

Well, the ITT still stands.

Why are the "canon" art images of the protags white while everyone else in the game is tan/black? Even the protag's mother is dark skinned.
>>26700756
The protagonists are canonically from Kanto. The mom might not be related or she could be a family friend or something like that.
Adoptive mother?
>>26700756
They're asian dumbass, and Pokemon comes from japan.
Use your brain a bit.
Monsters make for disquieting playmates. No matter how toylike and frivolous they may appear, monsters are unnatural and, in the end, deal in unresolved fear. But monsters also have a way with children. Consider the suspicious charms of the Pokemon creatures--Gengar, Cubone and Chansey, for example. The first is a ghostly purple ball with a devilishly cute smile, horns to match and a crocodile spine. The second is a sort of bear cub with a skull over its head--or is the whole thing its actual head? The third is a vaguely dinosauric pinkish cloud. Their equally bizarre compatriots...

The WB network (owned by Time Warner, the parent company of this magazine) swept up exclusive rights to the top-rated animated TV series. Warner released the Pokemon movie (see review, right), which opened on Wednesday last week and saw thousands of children calling in sick from school with the "Pokemon flu." Warner ran out of the trading cards it was giving away to ticket buyers. Meanwhile, Burger Kings in California and Texas had toy shortages for their Pokemon giveaways, leaving scores of children in...

Some behavior has been delinquent. A six-year-old logged on to a Pokemon website and printed counterfeit copies of the cards to trade with gullible schoolmates. Other behavior can be criminal. Last week a nine-year-old boy on New York's Long Island stabbed an older schoolmate in a dispute over cards. A principal explained why her school, like many others, was banning Pokemon cards: "Children who don't have Pokeman cards feel left out. When children bring the Pokeman cards into the lunchroom, they often...

But there is a problem: the key principle of the Pokeocracy is acquisitiveness. The more Pokemon you have, the greater power you possess (the slogan is GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL). And never underestimate a child's ability to master the Pokearcana required to accumulate such power: the ease with which they slip into cunning and thuggery can stun a mergers-and-acquisitions lawyer. Grownups aren't ready for their little innocents to be so precociously cutthroat. Is Pokemon payback for our get-rich-quick era--with...
