1. They only work when in a stance, be it attack or defense
2. There is a meter at the bottom when in guard stance, 10 shields. Every attack towards you(barring an enemy's attack stance suport_, be it hit or miss. will add 2 shields. When it reaches all 10 shields, your buffy will block all damage from the next damage round. They will also block all enemy attack stance supports as well

Yeah Saizo has some pretty funky growths for a Ninja, that low res and speed + having magic almost as good as attack really puts him in an awkward spot, i'd say it would be pretty interesting, what could possibly go wrong?

He can switch between a regular lance to combat low Def enemies, the shockstick to fight low Res foes, and a staff to either heal or land status stave hits with his good Mag and Skl. It seems like one of the few hybrid classes that still lets him have an acceptable Speed growth. The skill loss doesn't matter since it's Saizou and he even gets Countermagic to put his low Res issue to use. Plus the outfit looks pretty baller.

It's not surprising, Azama averages at 2-3 more true strength than Saizo at that level and the dread fighter has 3 more base strength than the Master Ninja so Azama should have roughly 6 more strength than Saizo if they are both level 10 of course.

Hector desu, never understood the hype for Ephraim. He's kinda boring, bland and cliche bordering gary stu levels that's always shown in a positive light and only shown in a negative light when the other character is either evil or being silly. Unlike Hector who is clearly reckless like him, but unlike Ephraim, he actually grows a bit, reflects a bit and gets called out by his allies. Also, Ephraim being so perfect directly led to his friends Lyon and Innes having massive inferiority complexes, the former eventually getting possessed.

Lol, if you actually had to play through his escape Ephraim would be wrecked by Valter. Any way you look at it, there is no way he could have done shit. Seth before his wound got oneshot by Valter, and Seth is way stronger than Ephraim even after he got beat. I just can't think of any way Ephraim COULD have escaped.
