Decided to play through pic related again after many years and now i'm reminded why the game is so hard - the a.i cheats like a motherfucker in wreckon' racing so you have to be fucknig good to get a high enough score per race (roughly 250 points) to top division 1.

I've always wanted to play Destiny, but several things are stopping me from purchasing it.
The first one is grind. Is there actually anything else besides combat and upgrading your stuff?
The second one is support. I've heard that on the vanilla launch the developers said Destiny will be getting major updates for 10 years or so, but they are already working on Destiny 2. Or as I've heard.
The third one is community, and I fear I missed many interesting things that everyone else has participated in. Is it true?
I've played the demo version and liked the general atmosphere, gameplay and universe, but I disliked the actual combat mechanics, the way how guns feel.

Okay so I'm not going to lie grinding and RNG is a huge part of the game but that's mostly just in late game. When you go through all the story and quests it's actually kind of fun finding new things and slowly making your character more powerful.
Honestly you kind of need to like FPS's because the PvP aspect is half of the game in a sense. The other half is Raids and strikes and a bunch of other PvE shit that /dg/ likes to do so you wouldn't be left behind. You should start it I think you would like it plus there's new DLC coming out in September so you have time to catch up.

I actually do. I like the new Doom, the old Doom, more classic shooters than modern ones. In addition to that, I like Warframe due to its neat design, but it became too grindy for me.
The thing is, it seems pretty much every modern game with MP in it is much more entertaining if played in a small company rather than alone, Destiny included. But I'm not a social person, hanging out in parties just to get better loot really tires me up. And because I don't like Destiny's shooting mechanic, I'm afraid I won't enjoy solo grinding too much, and this is the reason I'm uncertain.
And in the end, when I achieve goals in games like this and realize I'm alone out there when others form parties easily, it makes me really sad.
I'll try the demo again. Maybe I was in the wrong mood back then.

Raids are pretty much the only way to get late game content and you have to be in a team of 6 people, so yeah if that's not you then I'd probably steer clear of Destiny. Also the late game PvP is difficult without communication so there's that also.

I've read some articles about people who could clear the raids solo, and that was considered an achievement. I might try it, I'm good at situational awareness in games, and generally, if someone in competitive modes rapes me so hard it's unplayable, I train and eventually find a successful strategy.

GTAO is fucked, there's no way to avoid the grind on console (the new consoles anyway). I'd like to earn money and buy the new stuff, but trying to assemble a decent heist crew is time-consuming, and the heists themselves are tedious as fuck to complete. Grinding in GTA of all games is not something I'll ever enjoy or find relaxing.
The new stunt races are fun, but somehow I still feel like I'm wasting my time. I give up on the game.
