>the finale that is Click Clock Wood and everything after in Banjo
>the slow realization in 2001 that Animal Crossing was a game that kept going without the player, changing day by day, and proceeding to play it for 5 hours straight, while having so many questions about its quirky presentation before not caring and becoming an addict
>first time starting up DKC2 after years of doing every single possible thing in DKC1, as it was my first game ever. Experencieng that amazing aesthetic, and eventually hearing lockjaw saga with all it's bubbly submerged sounds, hearing the seal's cries in echo in the room as the tension ramps up. Soaking in the tone and realizing this game was its own different beast, but fully deserving of the DKC title. In fact, could it be even better?

It doesn't even have to be good games. Just moments that you remember going, "holy fuck."
For example, something like a full server on MAG on the PS3 was something I had never even come close to experiencing at that point. I was used to at the most 16 players, and the moment I parachuted down onto the map and saw an ocean of players firing at each other I couldn't even believe it. The game may have been unrefined, but I wouldn't trade that first feeling for anything.

Easily it was playing Morrowind for the first time. How almost everything was interactive just blew my mind for some reason. "Wait I can pick that up? And that? AND THAT?" Walking outside Seyda Neen and exploring that nearby cave and getting all kinds of loot and fighting for my life, getting all fucked up and tired as it started raining and finally seeing Balmora as a safe haven. Can't describe it. Was just so happy to see civilization after all that adventure and it was only a small fraction of what the game had to offer. Blew my mind.

I loved how nearly everything had a purpose like the lanterns and candles, sure they look nice and can be used to decorate, but they are also functional as a light source if you don't have any torches. After I installed a few mods for a nice small and cozy house I would spend a lot of game time just reading all the books the game had to offer.

Gonna have to say SM64 and Galaxy for me. 64 because first 3D game, and Galaxy because I guess music plays a big part in how seriously I take a video game, and somehow it seemed like all the stakes were there in Galaxy. Not just in-game, but in terms of Nintendo's practices

My favorite example of this is the manta ray boss. That huge fucker is sliming up the entire front part of a hotel and it's your job to clean things up, all while getting rid of the manta ray, which can split into tiny ones. That was my particular favorite.

Other than that, there were plenty of enemies that made use of shitting up the place like piranha plants. Sometimes the goop was electric or magma. Sometimes you could find Mario signs under the goop for blue coins.

There was so much done with the goop and how you had to clean it up that I'm hard pressed to call it "random". "Distracting" is up to you.

Good for you, gramps. Some of us are still okay with being happy and living in our version of the world we perceive. If you take a superior stance to being """mature""" cause you purposely put yourself in a lifestyle that you don't enjoy because that's "the adult thing to do," then do us all a favor and keep it to yourself.

I loved both Xtreme G 2 and XGRA(ssociation). Both have tremendous flaws with certain mechanics:
>in 2 the only way to win is to upgrade your engine first until you hit max engine, then you can think about unlocking the weapons and other stuff
>in association some weapons are clearly OP and the pickups are all imba
>perfecting courses (not necessary for winning) requires some memorization because some inclines/declined simply don't let you see what's ahead
But graphically and gameplay-wise they rock. Great sensation of speed while pasted to the ground on a jet-powered motorbike. XGRA had a hype soundtrack and the courses were quite wild. My memory of 2 is more fuzzy but it helped tide over myneed for speed.
>>
>>338168745

I hope so too, but I wouldn't hope for a proper Ori follow-up since the IP belongs to those fuckers at Microsoft and not the developers

Exactly 3 elements of that post could be used to lead anyone with a half a brain into understanding that I meant Alpha/Omega. You're just that retarded.

>Flying in Super Mario Bros. 3 for the first time
>Buying Nintendo consoles growing up, having a friend doing the same for the Sega line, and trading systems for weeks or months at a time to experience new games
>Hotseat games of Heroes of Might & Magic
>Always losing to the bastard who owned the game because the Ultimate Artifact was always in the same location
>Fighting The Butcher in Diablo for the first time
>Clearing the game and watching the 30-ish minute epilogue/ending sequence to FFVI was awesome
>Getting the standard "meh" ending in Lunar: Eternal Blue, being disappointed, and finding the playable Epilogue upon loading the save blew my mind
>Joining an 8-player game in Diablo 2 and clearing Normal difficulty as a group
>Getting into WoW, leveling a Priest and finally getting high enough to enter The Deadmines
>Setting off the cannon and seeing VanCleef's warship for the first time, the music shifts away from the ho-hum mine tune and only helps build tension and excitement as we approached the last encounter

no, that's precisely how to be a faggot. Makes sense that you would highlight what's essentially a VN with baby puzzles (notice you didn't even mention that) as a prime gaming experience instead of anything with actual gameplay.

The sad thing is that this autism is typical of Hotel Dusk fags

I thought that was so fucking stupid like the rest of that story and I have no idea how anybody found it good
>>
>get a little hyped on No More Heroes because it's a weeaboo with a lightsaber and that sounds funny
>start up the game
>first scene is Travis flying in on a motorcycle, chopping off two guy's heads, and yelling "FUCKHEAD"

I fell in love after that.
