I honestly feel bad for Zarya. Ever since she got announced, the beehi/v/e shat on her for being tumblr and sjw. She didn't choose to be designed that way. You know that, right? She's just trying to hold her own in the game. I fucking hate it when I see a bunch of Tracers and Widowmakers gang up on her, laughing at her expense. It has come to a point of Zarya getting bullied, both on messageboards and in-game. Mind you, I'm not in love with her. I don't think she's cute or anything, but she deserves to exist in the game without people having to take jabs at her every fucking second of the day. Hell, just think of all the porn out there of Mei, Tracer, Widow, etc. And hardly any of Zarya. It's purposefully done, because people love to hate her as a person, and that is straight up wrong. I just felt like sharing this, because there's no reason why she deserves so much shit. She was just a more advanced character to play and was ineffective when played as a standard tank. The further up you go in terms of level, the more Zaryas you see. She needs to be played as a support hero at the start and is not meant to be the main tank of a team.

I like playing her, its hard for now(like 4h) but she is great support tank.
She have one of most funny lines in OW "I just want to hug you like big fuzzy syberian bear" with that thick accent that always makes me smile and Im sure she would be great asset in any bar fight. Solid character, solid friend. Maybe not the cutest but there are more importhat things in life that cute ass.
Also she is red pilled.
I played Zarya quite a bit, I don't mind her design at all because I'm not a kneejerk gablegomer drone who hates anything with brightly colored hair.

I disagree. She can tank some hard damage solo or with a healer. Plus she can be a threat with her gun long and close range.
Reindhart has his shield, but if he wants to be a threat he must drop it and rush into enemy lines, where he can melt easily. Zarya instead can keep herself with the main group at all times.

It doesn't take much coordination to pop a shield on someone charging the enemy. Her ulti could use a coordinated attack, but she can also shoot grenades herself and the trap effect can give your team time. Or she can just wait for someone to yell IT'S HIGH NOON or YOU'RE IN MY SIGHTS.

I saw like 2 in the entire 15 hours I played, but actually playing her she's really fucking useful.
Only real problem I have is her laser feels a bit weedy. Like almost all the other weapons in the game give a lot of audio feedback but the laser is barely noticeable.
