I don't get why they are releasing on handheld first, that's my main beef with it. I don't really see anything releasing on the PS4 during its release date for the Vita that would affect sales, except for Star Ocean and that Cryamore game from Atlus.
But yeah, all my gripes about the party system is sure to be still present even with them putting jump back in the game, because I am sure their control scheme won't allow for jump to mix in with an attack unless they remap some stuff for that to happen or got rid of them.

I honestly just hope there's more freedom with attacking with less enemy resistances. Maybe throw in one now and then off to the side, but keep all the main enemies without resistances. That shit was awful to deal with in 7 and celceta.

Try the over emphasis on ingredient collecting and sidequests in Ys Seven. Flash guarding and no jumping makes boss fights stand in place Royal Guard fest too.
