why is ds3 a depressingly mega fail?
As of right now, DaS2 has better PvP, and that's where all the time spent ingame comes from after beating it once or twice.
Hating DaS2 is a meme on /v/, I know, but when you look in Dark Souls 3 threads, it's not hard to see why. You're met with tons of people whining about how they want poise, how they summon for fights and how they're all having fun with their Refined Dark Swords.
I'm hoping the balance will continue to be improved on every week/two weeks, but even so, something needs to be done about how shit it is to invade in this game.
Until things change, DaS3 is the superior PvE game and that's it.

besides from the LOL REMEMBER THIS GUYS>?? aspect the thing that really kills this game is the same thing that killed ds2, poise. THERE'S NO FUCKING POISE. poise made dark souls 1 so much better. being able to come back to earlier parts of the game and facetank attacks with your heavy armour while you cut multiple enemies to pieces made you feel godly. now any fucking attack can stagger you, which is why pvp is ruined as well.

sure in a ng+ you can do the dancer first, but that only lets you do dragonslayer armor, oceiros and the champ early on, which is still rather lame and you have to go through the swamp
overall the world isn't interconnected, sure you can see anor londo from undead settlement, but you can immediately go there via the use of a magical key
the pvp is shit
build variety is non-existent

I'm in similar boat. Although I've spend like 70 hours in the game, I feel like i'm completely done with it.
I guess it's mostly because how 'samey' the game feels, especially after spending lots of hours in previous games. The game is great, but I felt like I've played this before, many times.
Also NG+ is really disappointing, especially in comparission woth DS2. There's nothing new besides upgraded rings.

I think DS3 was a good game, but compared to previous Dark Souls titles it wasn't as good.
DS1 I feel is by far the best, the leveldesign was nutty, atmosphere was nice, mechanics were fun and the bosses were alright, some great.
DS2 was a big downgrade when it comes to leveldesign, but DS1 had one of the best of all time in a 3D game so that is understandable. However DS2 just felt a bit lazy in comparison, the game itself didnt have as interesting flow or nice areas, bosses were mostly mediocre and the new pvp system was disappointing, however it did make the online portion work a bit better.
DS3 i feel is on the same level of DS2 when it comes to leveldesign and atmosphere, not comparable to DS1 but its okay. The online portion of the game works better, but it should still be heavily expanded on as its such a popular feature. The mechanics of fights, especially in PvP, is far worse, with too much focus on spamrolling, with a really weird new poise system, etc.
All games gud, DS1 best by far, DS2 and DS3 comparable, imo.

I thought DaS2's combat is by far the worst. Say what you will about poise and rollspamming, but the combat in DaS3 still had a real weight and heft to it. In DaS2, everything was weirdly floaty. You just waved a sword around and things in the general vicinity happened to die. In DS3, things react, blood sprays, clothing flies, it's great.
Also variable i-frames in DS2 are way, WAY worse than whatever they ended up doing to poise in DS3.
