Depends what you want. Of the last few I've played and liked:
Wildstar is GREAT, but once you finish with the endgame there will probably never be more content at this rate. You also need a pretty decent computer to play it.
LOTRO is good but it's got a really jew paywall system. Also dead.
DDO is good but same as above with LOTRO. Also dead.
BDO is buy to play, but the game is alright. The cash shop is a rip off though. You can also get overwhelmed with stuff to do, which is a plus or minus depending on what kind of player you are.
I like Tree of Savior but I liked RO. It gets pretty fucking grindy though, and then when you reach the cap there's no real endgame.
Blade and Soul has THE dumbest or grindiest item progression and really shitty crafting, but the combat is pretty fun.
So in conclusion,no. Pick one that'll make you hate yourself the least.

I do play it. I just got up to 102 or so.
It's much less dead now that they condensed servers. The jewing is still intense though. Questing in most zones is purchased, the instances and skirmishes are purchased, etc etc. They don't make the money from cosmetics, is what I'm saying.
The Skies is a decent generic ruski pvp centered mmo that really satisfies my scavenging, hunting, and crafting fetishes. Actually in the process of wiping because the developer is incompetent and all of the ruskis were running around at level 5 with top tier guns, that's supposedly fixed though. It's actually got some interesting elements, dialogue options determined by your intelligence, world pvp focus, and pretty decent voice acting (even if the writing makes absolutely 0 sense the majority of the time) A lot of the NPCs aren't cookie cutter either. Like 30+ NPCs in the first town, all with different dialogues about their lives and different VAs and characteristics. Super early access but maybe it'll go somewhere. They're also pretty involved with the community and listen to them, even if their posts look like they've been run through a translator. It's kind of charming.

That's all anyone wants from an MMO these days, but it won't happen, for two reasons:
1. Too risky. Fantasy MMOs like WoW and Everquest have been successful, AAA devs have too much money to risk losing on something that may or may not work. (Sadly, they fail to realize that when an MMO is successful, people are invested in it, and won't just jump ship to another similar one, especially since it hasn't had the same time to become established and polished)
2. MMOs that, by AAA dev logic, should have been successful (Warhammer, LOTR, TOR, Wildstar, Elder Scrolls, any other WoW clone you can think of) have done nothing but bomb hard, cost the devs a lot of money, and go f2p. Unfortunately, devs think MMO = WoW clone, and now they think MMOs are a suicide venture, destined to fail. So don't expect to see ANY MMOs for a LONG time, at least until people finally get over polygon counts, and someone makes a fun, balanced, smooth (~50fps), action/adventure -based, massive multiplayer online game. So basically, never.
