They are significantly worse than "meh".
They're both prime examples of what happens when you let your story overtake the gameplay. You're left with garbage that's too cinematic to enjoy because you're skipping cutscenes every 5 seconds (if they even allow you to skip them). The gameplay is unpolished and, frankly, complete garbage reliant on one-time gimmicks, like items you'll never use outside of their dungeon, or characters who need constant, endless grinding just to be useful. Let's not forget the need for pretty graphics, while making your game linear handholdy garbage.
Overall, I tried to like these games, and ended up hating both of them immensely. I don't think they even deserve the title of "Video game". The term "movie" better fits them.

Fuck no, I loved both those games when they came out, and the HD releases only reaffirmed my enjoyment.
I've never played FFX but Twilight Princess is only a victim of inconsolable expectations.
People think that that saying "It's not a bad game, it's just a bad Zelda" is trolling or at least a damage control.
BUT GO BACK AND PLAY IT.
I guarantee that 99% of the people who disagree and seriously think that Twilight Princess is less than a 9/10 game played the cripplingly bad Wii port.
It is equal part:
1. The best-looking game of its entire generation. This is notable, because this is nominally the only feature of video games that you can rate without playing and TP doesn't even get credit for this.
2. The most diverse game of its gen. It has everything: on-foot, mounted, underwater, animal combat. And excels at all of them.
If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only have 1 game to play from the GCN/Xbox/PS2 era, you'd pick it if you had any grain of sense.

Wind Waker wasa great game, but it had it's flaws too. It was a game I experienced at a young age, but I think the music holds up better and even though the dungeons are less interesting and there was obviously a fair amount of cut content, its heart and design make me like it better than Twilight Princess which had a lot of scattered themes and terrible pacing.
