Baldur's Gate Extended Edition 1 & 2 are pretty much for people that don't want to install the mods themselves. It depends on how lazy you are, quite frankly. It does touch up the UI a bit, but IMO that's all.

Which is hard to do because BG2EE supposedly adds 500k or so words to the second game. BG1EE is much better in how much less it fucks things up with Beamdog's OCDONUTSTEEL content.
