I honestly don't understand why they kept going with this after the backlash at E3. The game is neither eerie nog exploratory. The builds are just picking more items than the other person, the artstyle is post-GBA tier (in fact, I think Hunters looked better than this) in a seemingly futile attempt to cater to some sort of misplaced SNES-nostalgia and the storyline appears to be non-existing apart from "this is planet, planet is made of ice, ice planet has ice monster, do the shooty or the captury".

And amazingly enough the social climate of Japan is completely different from that of the US and Europe, which is why every other game for Japanese people on trains (like, say, Monster Hunter) bombs over here. Well either way it's no trouble to Nintendo Nintendo doesn't have a "Metroid studio". SPD and Sakamoto are better off doing Tomodachi Life, Rythym Heaven or Wario Ware and Tanabe is better off directing Donkey Kong with Retro and NLG is better of with Luigi's Mansion, Punch Out or Mario Strikers.
