I love all the CS games and played all 3 for hundreds of hours, but I have to say GO is my favorite simply because of weapon balance. Its still the same sort of shit where (AK>M4)=AWP, but the other weapons feel balanced for their roles. In 1.6 there wasn't that balance, every weapon that wasn't best rifle, AWP, P90 or Deagle (Ignoring auto snipers because fuck those) was practically useless in comparison. Even on eco, why buy a TMP over a Deagle? Why buy the pump action? And don't get me started on how shit the Fiveseven is, a gun that is meant for armor piercing in the first place. Don't get me wrong, 1.6 is fantastic and will always have a place in my heart, but GO beats it out slightly for me purely on the weapon balance. Source was entertaining for a little while when it came out, but fuck those heads were massive.

Fucking publord shitters like you should not be allowed to live. The money system revamp in 1.6 easily made the game one of the best if not the best team based multipalyer games.
Before that snowballing was way too hard to stop but it's not like that affected you on your as_tundra and shit.

I'm upset about the custom community as well, but I don't really mind the microtransactions. Any microtransaction system based purely around cosmetics doesn't bother me at all, because its all just visual. M8, did you even play? That shit was smooth, crisp, cash money, my man. I'm talking ragdoll physics at it's god damn best. That game felt, and looked so god damn good it was unbelievable at the time. It played better, sounded better, felt better than any other CS in the series, and the mods were the best. It had better zombies, the jail mod was awesome, surf maps were better.

i didn't get to play Source much, but i liked what i did play.
1.3 and 1.5 were the best for me. had the best times on LAN and was at my highest skill-wise.
i had Cal-I aim and was good at communicating, but was terrible at everything else, especially decision making.

I had hopes for GO and it felt like it was going in the right path at times, but its too fucking inconsistent. Just generally how it feels and moves and the models being fucking tiny makes everything way too random. Watching pros struggle with it too just discourages any enthusiasm from me.

Imagine if spray patterns were more consistent? We'd see plays like this more often and the skill ceiling would grow.

Its not the best but it is better than GO. What i dont understand is that the hit reg was poor on source so Valve decided to make another game on the same engine. The reg is still poor even on 128 tick. If you shoot 5 bullets at a wall holding M1 they go straight up in a line, so really if i was too shoot at a model it should kill them. So why do i end up having half a clip left after shooting at someone then finding out i hit them 4 times out of the 15 rounds.

Source is the best CS. Best movement, hitboxes, weapons, speed, everything.
