Actually pretty good.
I've been doing a couple of videos, and I mostly edited down what I wanted.
Super Mario Bros for NES
And Halo:Combat Evolved were picked as my first two
Then I decided to do a video on Onimusha for PS2, which is almost done.
I decided to do this series where I playthrough an entire game, and I edit the highlights into a 10 minute video, whether they be awesome or funny moments. Then I pick songs from the OST or from my personal CD collection and play them over the video.
SMB is about 8 minutes long so far, with Halo being around 11 minutes.
I haven't uploaded them yet, but I will by the end of the week.

I recently made my 413 subscriber special to call my entire fanbase nerds.
A lot of people subscribed when I made some videos about a game that was Flavour of the Month at the time, but became cancerous later on. I keep the videos up because it allows me to ban 'character accounts' and general fags from my channel through their shitty comments :^)

It feels nice knowing that when I play video games I'm doing more than just wasting time. Although it's a bit annoying not being able to wander around or lull about since there's only a limited amount of harddrive space for footage. and especially annoying cramming 10+ hours worth of footage into a 10 minute video.

I did do a series of historical summary vids for a La-Mulana LP I did. People really liked that, especially with how rooted in historical accuracy that game was.

The reason people don't do that with new games is the reason that don't do it with new movies or music. It is really risky to have an extremely negative opinion about things that don't already have an established negative opinion about them. It is also true of a lesser extent for a positive opinion. It is hard to be popular being a trail blazer and early adopter of things if you aren't already popular to begin with. For the simple reason that viewers can turn on you quick if they don't already agree with on pre-established views of how good or bad a game is.
It is easy to be le born in the wrong generation or to only review retro games because everyone has mapped everything out for you.

Well I'm sure it helps that there is also familiarity people wont know new games and references and jokes to them to the same extent that they will new ones. So to an extent the "everyone else is doing it" factor has something to do with it, but there has always been negative reviewers. Before AVGN Seanbaby was the big thing and before him it was late 90's/early 00's game informer. I'm sure there were people before them.
You can probably earn more respect by being someone who finds new things and gets people to try things they normally wouldn't or who correctly identifies a game as shit before other people. This was one of the reasons Adam Sessler was liked before he turned to crack. It is just a lot riskier to do that because you have to predict whether audiences will actually like the thing or not and it isn't really easy to do. What you think is golden most people might think is shit and vice versa.

Hitbox has been picking up speed since the developers are looking to get more of an american audience going. A friend I stream for managed to get partnered just because four of us got drunk and played Nazi Zombie Army 2 and that got some attention.
I think we got the short end of the stick though, out of all of their partners, we're the best at ~30 viewers while everyone else peaks at 10.
