Something like zelda could be fine for example, where there's still a lot to do and customize even though you don't have stats and whatnot.

To be fair they do add stuff after removing RPG elements.
They removed the armorer skill and weapon degradation but added in a smithing skill.
They removed spellcrafting and mysticism and a lot of spell effects but they did add a couple of new ones and changed the way enchanting works and made it a skill again.
Not that these are 100% good changes though.
And some changes got no new stuff like removing the Athletics, Acrobatics and Hand-to-hand skills and replacing them with fucking nothing. And removing the haggling system, ways to get up an NPCs disposition through a mini-game or bribes and combining speech and mercantile into one skill.

Basically, most of the prophecies you fulfill are all shady.
The prophecy says you are immune to corpus, but in the game you get infected by it. In fact the only reason you are unaffected by corpus later in the game is because divayth fyr cure just makes it so you don't show the symptoms even though you are still a walking corpse.
The prophecy also says that the Nerevarine will kill the false gods. How do you kill them? One of them is dead when you find him, and the other one you kill in self-defense. The third you don't even have to kill.
It's ok to believe you were truly the Nerevarine, the game doesn't really say you are or you aren't. But to compare how you are the chosen one in Morrowind with Skyrim is just silly. Morrowind mocks the whole "chosen one" deal in the first place.

Morrowind did it better. It's ambiguous whether or not you're the chosen one. And even if you are, the game makes you work hard to convince everyone of the fact (those hortator quests). In skyrim you finish and everything else feels out of place, especially how people dont really give a fuck because bethesda was too lazy to code them to react to your achievements (which is funny because in oblivion they did)

There was something that kept me interested in F3, I can't put my finger on it, but I had fun.
I turned F4 off 3/4's of the way through and put on TLOU instead. Then I cried at what could have been.

- One good character is better than 10 mannequins
- One good dungeon is better than 10 drag and drop object sets in caves.
- Repetitive gameplay is inevitable. The story keeps focus.
- Basic stereotypes are not characters.
- Size is not a substitute for depth in the same way that longer books are not better than short ones.
- Good voice actors are cheap and plentiful. We don't need celebrities.
- No I don't want to collect any more copper. Mama Murphy can sit in the dark.
- That whole 'soft voice' thing has to be used properly.
- The story has to be QA'd too.
- Beta testers are not QA
- Modders are not QA
- You've had the same constrains stuck through rigid bodies bug in the core physics engine since oblivion.
