You would need to do more than that. You would need to keep the entire staff together. But that would be impossible because the old guard like Miyamoto would likely retire and the younger, respectable devs, like Koizumi, would be tempted to walk.

The games only those machines can play. That alone is enough to justify the purchase. Wii and the Wii U having gimmicks but no games is why those consoles are so weak. Console doesn't need to make such drastic changes in order for it to be a good purchase and Playstation's Been fucking prove of this since 1999. PS4 doesn't have mant games that aren't multiplats. Even if they're exclusive, some of them are timed exclusives or "Playstation exclusives", meaning it's also for the PS4 and Vita.
I own a PS3, I own a Vita, and I own a PC. The PS4 just doesn't have the huge lineup of exclusives that it looks like at first glance. No matter how I look at it, I can't justify my purchase, even though I really want to. The Wii U may not have the full lineup of multiplats that the PS4 has, but I don't need those when I have a PC. The Wii U has enough exclusives I wanted that I felt like it warranted a purchase.
Hopefully someday the PS4 will gather enough games that I can say the same, because I really want to play Disgaea 5, but as it stands, I just can't justify all that money for a couple games.
