can you sell stolen shit to any merchant in Morrowind or are there fences?
>>
you can sell stolen shit to anyone you didn't steal it from, however if you steal something from a merchant any item of that type is now marked as stolen from that merchant and they will get pissed if you try to sell it back to them so you have to sell things to other people.
>>
>>323772413
Another way of putting it is that the stolen item is at the top of the stack, right?
>>
>>323772047
This. >>323772413
Also, if you've just started playing it, I hope you have the GOTY edition, because otherwise, you'd have to manually adjust the price, if the vendor has not enough money to buy a very expensive item from you. Your best friend in these cases is the Creeper in Caldera, he has the fattest purse out of all vendors, bar the talking crab.
Oh, and one more thing, if you have the GOTY or expansions installed, DISABLE their files in the launcher until you finish the vanilla storyline. Otherwise they'll trigger the events tying into expansions right as you start the game.
>>
>>323772794
Shit too late. But free assisin armor is nice right? :)
>>
>>323772974

>>
>>323774503
Fuck it has been so long since ive played Morrowind that ive forgotten all the names.
There was this one house I had in some town. I just kinda found it thought "this is a cool place" killed the occupants and moved in.
It had heaps of tables and shelves in the main room. So I laid out all my shiny swords/armour/scrolls and shit on them ever so neatly.
Then whilst arranging my sword racks a bag appeared. Floating near a table, anything i dropped automatically got stuffed in there.
It used to take a minute or two, to scroll through all the shit that I had to store in there. I practically owned a museum.

I just used the Telvanni Stronghold. It's got all you'll ever need, and it looks baller as fuck. Especially nice as a mage since you need levitate to use it properly. Also, autism-wise it works out great since you actually own it in-game.

I'm not sure if I ever completely finished the telvanni stronghold. Only stronghold I used was Bal Isra it totally blew my mind when I found out I could have my own place the first time haha. So much time spent wondering around in ash storms, but it was like in a really good strategic spot to get around between the other places. Telvanni one actually looks like it's in a very good spot to explore around, I never seem to find all the indexes or the right ones to travel around maybe I'll have to do a playthrough find those and go telvanni would make getting to tel uvurith a lot easier.

>Can you give me some good reasons/tips to start playing?

Biggest obstacles you'll face is the way combat works and how magicka doesn't regenerate. Both of these can be modded, but I wouldn't do it for your first ruin just to experience the game as intended. Biggest tip: keep your fatigue as full as possible at all times, meaning carry food and potions with you to recover. In fact make a practice of carrying consumables with you in general.

>>323781384
>How do I prevent this?
Repent, abandon your criminal ways and become an honest citizen.
>>
>>323781384
Keep in mind detection works on line of sight. Either pray the guard isn't looking at you, get a spell like chameleon or invisibility and pray he doesn't see through or just fuck around that pillars that's nearby and obstruct his vision. You also need to do it fast. You don't want to fight guards that early on.
>>
>>323776894
If you do go back to form the telvanni stronghold, download Uvirith's Legacy.
http://stuporstar.sarahdimento.com/

Default Telvanni stronghold is a little pitiful and not in any way deserving of the splendor of a superior bred telvanni mage. The mod adds a proper vault for you to store all your naked sex slaves and piles of gold, several levels to the tower so you can spread out your massive collection of potions instead of filling out a single room and leaving no room for your truckload of other magical artifacts, and a couple of peasants clinging to your tower to use as cheap labor, like the other strongholds have. Plus some other stuff.

>>323781515

>>
>>323780897
Fatigue is as important as HP or magicka for mages. Don't abuse alchemy. That's all you really need to know. Go blind, explore, don't listen to people that tell you where to go to find OP loot.

Im not gonna lie, i've tried both magicka and combat mods but i decided to not go with the combat one since it makes things too easy the magicka mod i use seems decent enough, not crazy high regeneration, and i kinda need it because i'll roleplay a necromancer, but if i somehow find a way to efficiently regenerate magicka i might remove it. Also it might sound like a pet peeve or casual but i wish Morrowind had voiced dialog, it would really make the game for me. And is there any way to find some easier enemies to level up? inb4 git gud.
>>
>>323781778
>a way to efficiently regenerate magicka
Rest until healed.
>>
>>323781638
You can't fight guards early on because they'll just whoop your ass. Also

>One potential side-effect of damage is staggering or even knocking down opponents. Higher damage (and lower opponent Agility) will increase the chance of these effects, which means that slower, harder-hitting two-handed weapons are generally more likely to keep an opponent off its toes. Note that Hand-to-Hand attacks have an unusually high stagger rate and will knock an opponent down automatically once they run out of Fatigue.
>>
>>323781778
I believe you can enchant items to have a constant heal magica effect that'll regenerate your magic.

Although constant effect enchantments require the biggest souls possible and are therefore pretty damn difficult to get at until late game.
>>
>>323780897
I assume you're modding? You might want to get LGNPC. All it does is add character to towns and irrelevant characters, but it's a good addition.

http://lgnpc.org/

>>323781947

I've played through Morrowind once, in 2014. I just played the main story and quit. Didn't really take my time to explore.
Now I want to give it another shot, take it slow, play the expansions too, etc.
I was thinking of playing an orc warrior who uses alchemy to give him an extra edge.
Now I'm considereing going mainly hand-to-hand. Is this a good idea, or is hand-to-hand boring/weak?
If so, what other weapon styles do you recommend?
>>
>>323784972
Spear is pretty cool because it's actually based off Endurance, meaning you can easily get loads of Health / Fatigue early on
I've always wanted to play H2H but I don't like the system of having to punch enemies until they stagger, though there's bound to be a mod out for that.
>>
>>323784972
See above. When using hand-to-hand combat in Morr, you first have to drain the opponents fatigue to do any damage. Although, if you're strong enough, you can just keep them stunlocked and beat them while they're lying on the ground defenseless.
