It's why I don't play CS. It made sense back with 1.6 because modeling visual recoil and things like that were expensive and sometimes limiting depending on the engine.
But fucking 2015? No, it's easy as fuck to have visual representation of aiming. It's not like having that visual element means you have to be CoD and have no recoil patterns or anything like that.

I've played quite a bit of BF4 on PS4 and the community is really nice, no hitler server admins, etc.
The only thing that pisses people off is the UCAV, which honestly deserves it, its super cheap.

Adding iron sights to a game where you already get perfect accuracy when stationary would be redundant and slow down dumber players. It's all about pre-aiming commonly-used routes, stutter stepping to quickly get accurate, and tapping the guy dead. It also makes strafing viable. Most good players can do this so fast that you see very little lost mobility on aiming and it makes the game have a much more consistent pace than all these new AAA shooters that grind the game to a crawl when you actually want to take shots and making yourself extremely vulnerable to getting shot at.

The small advantage you will see some players using is that crouching is an automatic way to counter recoil. You tap it on the first 2 bullets. Basically, you're standing for the first one, and by the 2nd you're mid-crouch and it puts the 2nd bullet at headshot level. Well not exactly
The whole point of iron sights is analog sticks can't be both fast and precise. So you have two aiming modes, one with fast aiming that you can't reliably cursor over shit, but you can turn quickly - and one with slow aiming, zoomed in so you don't notice it's slower, and so you can see better in low resolution. Its designed to overcome console hardware limitations of both the controller and the display.
PC games only need shit like that for long distances. Iron sights are basically medium range zoom, which is unnecessary for PC hardware.
You're exactly right about the movement speed reduction though. It's there in console FPS because fast movement with slow aiming and a narrow FOV wouldn't be useful, but in the end they both ensure that players can't move fast and shoot well at the same time.
There's a lot of fancy ways to combine movement with shooting in CS, but it's still fucking casual like iron sights. Stopping to shoot isn't hard, but shooting a moving target is. That's why CS became so popular IMO. The average PC gamer couldn't handle a fast arena shooter, so they liked a game where other players had to stand still when shooting back.

Who the hell says that? I've pretty much never heard anyone complain about the SG/AUG not being viable after they were buffed beyond their 1.6 counterparts a year or two ago.
Either way, sights would be redundant in this game, because all the guns are already as accurate as they should be anyway. It would add nothing to the core gameplay. Hell, I use the AUG sights almost solely for the zoom, not better accuracy.

Accuracy is indirectly-proportionate to speed, more so than other pseudo-realistic games, and timing shots exactly when you're standing still is a key skill in the game that would be lost if a modal accuracy function was introduced. It doesn't need to be something it's not for the sake of looking like other games. That's like saying CoD should have independent head movement, because ARMA has it and it's "more realistic."

Except that in Cs normalyl when you stop you do it for a fraction of a second and just shoot. To scope is an extra animation and time which cs players don't like.
also don't like that it blurrs and the ironsights restrict view, better off just mastering the AK and getting headshots without bothering to even scope or restrict view.

As someone who regularly plays DM and GG and does well it does slowly make your reaction time better. I'm terrible at the core game itself though and am too scared to play comp because I hate being judged by strangers. Strategy and map awareness and shit are my weakness. I'm not cut out for any iteration of CS but its still fun to me. I'd give up my fighting game abilities for general FPS skill any day. I'm solid but I want to be god like.

I use SG556 as my main weapon and get usually a lot better results than my friends and teammates who use AK47. It's more accurate than AK and the scope gives real advantage in long ranges. People have complained a few times 'waaaah l2p cod noob' but it's just because they get rekt. Don't give a shit about them and use a gun which suits for you.

Every time I play it's completely random if I get 3 lucky kills in a row one round or if I just get one shotted instantly for 8 rounds.
