Most people have no fucking idea how to be self employed (even if it's just a side project). The main problem was that TGWTG never really had a good human resource. A good business sets certain rules like how you should act with everyone. TGWTG however just let people do and say whatever they want. And with no HR there to step in and calm people down. So tons of people start to just hate each other and the whole site basically broke down. Spoony is just more well known because of how big he is online. But you can look at minor ticks here and there over the course of years with them and you can tell that they had no fucking clue how to reign in people and smooth things out.
